Chapter 3: When the cannon goes off

When me and joe are back in our rooms we look around for any clues of what we are doing but next thing you know we are on the floor all I see is a blur of people walking away one holding a gigantic needle and the other one had a checkboard they both looked like doctors of some sort but I just couldn't figure out who they were.

I wake up and when I do I can see a thing. I'm in a dark capsule with only two small lights in it I get so nervous as I realise this is it, I'm doing this, I'm competing in the hunger games. The capsule comes to a stop and I'm looking around, the dark shading has gone so now its as clear as glass. I can see joe next to me and another person with dark black hair, I'm looking around and I can see Tyler and Connor on the other side of this circle then I look to the right of them to see the two boys I saw earlier with the brown and blonde hair now I'm starting to freak. In the middle there are weapons and supplies I see a bow and arrow I'm gonna go for that and I can also see a bag with a flashlight hanging off of it so I will run to that first. The capsule opens and I'm struck with fresh air and the smell of the mountain is so nice I have to take it in but all of a sudden I'm woken from that dream by a loud sounding cannon I see everyone running so I start to run too. I see joe run to the bag I was gonna grab then I see two girls running straight to the bow and arrow so I run as fast as I can and when I reach it I stare at them and then run to find joe. As I'm running though what is like a forest I can hear people screaming and I can hear people running behind me which makes me even more anxious so I run faster and faster until I get tackled by something I fight against it and eventually push it off of me I put up my bow and arrow to find its joe. A wave of relief washes over me I feel safer now so we walk to a tree which is super high as I look up I start to feel very scared I'm scared of heights so I cant climb up this. Joe looks at me and says "At least we will be away from all of this" I nod and start to climb but before I know it I'm up the tree and feeling safer then I did down on the ground joe is right behind me so I wont fall. When we are up the tree joe tells me to get a rest so I do I sleep thru the whole night and so does joe. 

I wake up to the sound of a cannon and so does joe we look down and see two people walking past it one was a girl and the other a boy. They looked nice but joe said to let them pass over so I do me and joe climb down when they are gone so we can get away without them seeing us. Joe and i are trying to find a creek are a river so we can get some water and get some kind of clean i finally spot one but there are two people getting water joe says to play it safe so i do but then joe notices who they are. "HEY" Joe shouts "OI CONOR JACK OVER HERE" I look at him "Are you crazy what the hell are you doing" I say. But its too late jack and conor are turned to us and walking over I get my bow and arrow ready just in case we cant trust them but it seems like joe has complete trust in them. Jack begins to speak "Hey joe we were wondering where you were" I glare at them then I catch conor staring at me "What do you want" I say directing it at conor. He just looks down so now I know I look more powerful joe explains to me that these guys can help us and they got taken away from there family's as well but they are siblings so it makes it easier. As we continue to talk I'm starting to trust conor and jack a lot more but then we hear a loud bang like a cannon I get really scared because I think bombs are going off but then jack tells me that when the cannon goes off it means someone has just died and every second night there are memorials that say peoples names and districts. I say my respects and then go back to the tree it s now late so we have to sleep as I'm drifting off to sleep I think about winning this and getting out off here with my brother but then I realise only one district can win so that means....we have to kill jack and conor.......
