'My mother told me to be wise and respectful to people I guess I never took those words in sometimes it counts to be wise to people sometimes it counts to be respectful to people and I've now learned that'. 'Hey are you ready to go' Joe shouts out from downstairs. I whisper to myself ' ready as I'll ever be' I run downstairs to where I see my brother joe and my little sister poisey. Both of them are really helpful whenever something happens they are always the first ones to help me I look around 'Wheres mum and dad' I sat with a bit of confusion in my voice. Joe looks up at me and says 'The head of youtube is here....and she's pulling out names for the hunger games'. I cant believe what has just been said I start to feel dizzy and run over to the couch I just sit there for a while hoping and praying that our names don't get pulled out. Joe said that we have to go because she's pulling them out soon so I grab my coat and boots. On the way there it was silent its not normally like us we would either be blasting out some songs or making up funny jokes about mum and dad but not this time. But I guess we are all just nervous cause even thou there at about 1,000 of us in this district the chances are 50%.
When we get to the town hall I text mum and say "Hey we are here where are you guys Z xx". Almost as soon as I sent the message I feel my phone buzz its a message from mum " We are near the front" . I tell joe and poisy I grab on to my little sisters hand she's shaking like crazy but I reassure her that the chances of you getting pick is limited so we will be fine but it doesn't seem to calm her so I just keep holding her hand until we got to mum and dad. Poisey runs up to them and holds them tight while me and joe walk slowly to them soon enough we hear a loud voice over a microphone one of the head of YouTube body guard stands tall at the podium. He looks very tough and will get in anyone's way when he starts talking again his voice sounds like 10 demons joined together it is so hoarse and croaky. I feel Poisey give me a poke and she whispers in my ear 'I think he swallowed a frog' I let out a small giggle and nudge her. I'm glad she's making jokes at a time like this she doesn't seem so nervous anymore I revert my eyes back to the stage where the head of YouTube comes walking on she is a little less scary than I thought she would be. She is wearing a bright floral dress that reaches her knees her hair is crimped up in two perfect buns that has two bright pink bows in them. 'Hello beautiful people' She says in a voice so sweet you would think that she has eaten 100 of them starbursts lollipops 'and welcome my name is Maggie and today two lucky youtubers will be drawn out of this barrel and once your chosen you will be competing in the 74th annual youtuber hunger games so lets start shall we the first lucky person is.... Poisy Sugg'. As soon as I hear her name my stomach drops I get a dry mouth and I swear my heart stops for a minute everything is going in slow motion there are two guards coming over to get her I knew I had to do something so without thinking I did this...'NO STOP WAIT I'll volunteer for her I'll do it please don't let her go please'. Poisey stares at me like she had just seen a ghost I bend down and whisper to her 'Its ok I promise' and before I knew it I was being dragged away by two very strong people. I than hear joe say 'WAIT STOP don't draw another name out ill do it let me do it please' I see Maggie look around and look straight back at joe well I guess you could do it so go right ahead. So before I knew joe was by my side I grab his hand and tell we will survive we will win for our family. 'Well I thank you all for coming out and make sure to tune in to the live broadcast of it on channel 23 bye bye now everybody and I hope you all stay safe and sound at home".
