A/N: I'm so sorry for the wait for the next chapter, I've been working on some other books as well and I've also had midterms for the past week. But I'm actually home sick today so here's another update <3
"Jyn."
A voice seemed to cut through her thoughts, bringing her up from her sleep and leaving her to face the harsh reality of the war waging all around the kingdom. But Jyn wasn't going to give up the bliss that easily.
"Jyn!"
The voice was louder this time so she made more of an effort to drown it out. They seemed more annoyed at this point but she could honestly care less. Maybe it was better if she could lay here forever, possibly freeze to death but that reality seemed better than waking up.
"Jyn!"
The voice cut through her bliss once again and started to get her annoyed. Didn't they get she didn't want to move? Maybe they eventually got the memo for a hard kick in the side was the response.
"What the hell!" She wheezed out clutching at her side. The kick had knocked the air right out of her.
Looking up she saw an almost smug Cassian next to a smirking horse. Well he wasn't exactly smirking, but if a horse could smirk, that's what K2 would be doing.
Stupid horse.
"We should be heading out soon."
"You could of tried any other way to wake me up."
"I tried to call your name."
In response Jyn made a face. "You could've shaken me lightly or something like that, you didn't have to get your blasted horse to kick me!"
Cassian shrugged, that same stupid smug look on his face. "I didn't have to, but it's more fun that way."
Jyn narrowed her eyes and went to collect her things, it didn't take long for there wasn't a lot to collect but she pretended there was. Letting her back face him, she moved slowly, her eyes still angry slits.
She longed the knock that stupid smirk off his dumb face.
"You're quite irritable you know that?"
"That's nice to know."
"And you're quite the bastard you know that?"
"Well I know now, Jyn Erso."
A smirk formed on his face once again.
"You better not use that name around the enemy."
"You can't tell me what to do, maybe I should."
"You wouldn't."
He didn't reply instead walking towards K2, a satchel right in his grip.
"Who said I wouldn't?"
"I did, and we both know that. If you use that name we're both dead."
Cassian chose not to respond and Jyn found herself smug at her victory. Instead hen beckoned her over to K2, watching her struggle to get onto the horse's back.
"Aren't you going to help me?"
"Grab my hand."
"How do I know if you're going to actually help me or not?"
"Trust does both ways, doesn't it?"
Nodding, Jyn took his hand tightly. With a few tugs he got her secured onto the back of K2. The horse wasn't too happy about the current situation, grunting in response and kicking it's legs.
Cassian had to calm down K2 several times for the horse had tried to throw Jyn of his back at least four times the way down from the cave.
The two finally made their way onto the main traveling road and a silence had settled between the two. It was quite cold outside but snow had not yet come, Jyn was relieved at that fact.
The leaves of the trees were long gone though. The branches sticking out from every angle into the barren sky.
She wanted to say something to him but she couldn't. Jyn just didn't know what to say, so she didn't bother.
The two then continued their silent ride. The sound of K2's hooves hitting the ground was the only noise they heard for no one let their words escape their lips.
A/N: Okay so finally another update as you could see!! Hopefully you enjoyed <3 anyways I'm probably going to take a nap now lmao, because I need rest. Tysm for reading
