Chapter 3

Taylor looked around until she spotted the person she was looking for.

When we walked up to him, Taylor said, "Meet Noah."

When I first laid my eyes on Noah, it was like everything had stopped and we were the only two people in the world. It was almost as if we were in a movie.

"Hi I'm Noah," he said with the cutest smile on his face.

"H-Hey, I'm uh June I mean Jude," I stuttered, nervously.

"Jude, nice name" he responded, with a quick wink. For Noah, talking to me looked like it was so easy, but when I tried talking to him, I forgot my own name.

As we walked to where we were supposed to go to, Taylor led the way and we followed. When we arrived at the room, we sat down in a circle with about five other kids my age. We all started talking about our day and then we got to the topic of the day which was our future.

The first person Noah looked at was me, "Jude, you wanna start?" He asked, kindly.

I nodded and stated, "Well my name is Jude and when I grow up I wanna be an activist for LGBT rights."

And about one second later, the girl sitting across from me asked, "Are you gay?"

At first my cheeks turned a shade of bright red, but then I looked at Taylor and she nodded in a sort of approval way.

I looked back at the girl and confidently told her, "Yeah. I'm gay!"

After that, I checked the time and it was 4:30 PM. I started to get hungry so I asked Noah and Taylor if we could go out to eat something. Taylor said she could buy us pizza because she had $30. So, we all walked down the streets towards the pizzeria.

Noah and I started having a conversation on the way there. He asked me how it was being openly gay and I answered his question honestly. Once we arrived at the pizzeria, we ordered the food, found a seat, and then ate.

That's when Taylor said, "Jude, my mom texted. We have to go."

"But its only 5:00," I replied, confused.

"I could give you a ride home," Noah interrupted.

"Really?" I asked, in shock. I barely even knew him.

"Yeah, positive" he answered, reassuringly.

"Okay.. thanks," I told him, blushing a bit.

As soon as Taylor paid the waitress, we left. We only walked for a little bit together because then Taylor went her way.

Finally, we were alone.

Noah ended up not living very far from the pizzeria. When we got inside his house, we went straight to the kitchen. We got some snacks and went to the living room to watch a movie. We decided to watch Star Wars.

"So you know I'm gay right," Noah says breaking the silence.

"You are?" I blurted out, shocked. Noah is so cute.

"Yup" he said awkwardly.

"Oh sorry I didn't mean it like-" I apologized.

"It's okay," he says, smiling.

He then looks back at the tv and I couldn't help, but stare at him. He has a cute smile and beautiful eyes and he's kind. He's perfect to me..

I then checked the time on my phone and it read 6:00 PM so I told Noah that I had to be home in an hour.

"Okay, I'll text my mom."
