2. You were quirky

Some say being quirky is strange, but it's what really made you glow and made you different from all the other girls at our school.

You came running up to me one day, holding a small magazine and smiling so brightly, again. Your smile was so contagious, so I couldn't help but smile at how cute you looked when you were excited and smiling like that.

"Natsu, look," you had said, showing me the magazine and revealing two adorable bunnies on the cover. It was an animal magazine of some sort. I had wondered why you read those.

"I want a bunny," you said to me, leaning against whoever's locker was beside mine and holding the magazine against your chest.

Other girls in school wanted makeup in the magazines, and you wanted bunnies. I thought your quirkiness made you, just you. It enticed me even more.

Your eyes lost their glow for a moment. I could see...disappointment, or something like that in your eyes.

"What kind?" I asked, closing my locker.

You glanced over at me and creased your eyebrows in thought. I noticed how you did that whenever you had to think hard about something, and how your lip sometimes twitched when you were thinking. But, what weirded me out was that I never usually noticed small, itty bitty things like that before in anyone. Only you.

"I like the snow white ones," you answered, your eyebrows relaxing and the glow returning to your eyes. Thankfully.

"They look so fluffy and small and cute and - oh, I'm sure you've seen a bunny like that before," you said with a chuckle, making my insides feel weird again. At the time, I didn't know what you were doing to me.

"After school, let's go get a bunny for you," I had suggested, grinning and causing your eyes to glow even more.

They looked beautiful and made you even more stunning. Then, you wrapped your dainty arms around my neck, which caused my heart to race a million miles an hour. I hugged you back, inhaling your strawberry vanilla scent, which may sound creepy, but it became my favorite scent.

"Thank you, Natsu!" You had exclaimed, keeping your arms around my neck comfortably. "You're the best human, person, friend guy."

There were so many things I liked about you already, and it had only been five months since you talked to me on the bench at lunch that one day.

I considered that I had developed a crush on you.

"You're the best human, person, friend girl," I said and you chuckled again, making my heart soar.
