“Wait, wait, WAIT? She she really said that?” Kaylin asked me.

We were sitting in my room and I had just reenacted the whole Leighton scene.

"Yes! She was like ‘Will you sit with me if I’m nice?’ and I was like ‘Sure’ “

“I CAN NOT believe this! Leighton has been a bitch to everyone since the first grade. With her crappy attitude and crappy friends and her crappy, rich parents.I swear this doesn’t sound like her at all! ”

“I wonder why she thinks that we’ll be good friends, from what I know, we’re complete opposites.”

“Maybe she changing?”

“Yeah,maybe.”

“Okay, “ she said excitingly, “so there’s a rumor going around school that you’re dating Cole and his hot friend Jackson! Is it true or what?”

“WHAT? I just met Cole like a week ago and I literally had my first conversation with Jackson today! How can we be dating?”

“Well from what I’ve heard you guys are pretty close! Plus, a week is enough time. I think a day is actually the perfect amount of time!”

“Cole and I are close but there’s nothing else going on! Why would I be dating Cole and his BEST FRIEND at the same time? That makes no sense!”

“Maybe something is going on but you just don’t realize it yet” Kaylin suggested.

“Or not! Cole is way out of my league! He’s obviously a ten, and I’m barely a five.!”

“Out of your league? How? You’re pretty, funny, and smart. Plus you’re like insanely popular! I think you’re a ten. and so is Cole!”

“What, me popular? Impossible, no one knows my name except for like you, Jackson, Jessica, Leighton, and Cole. Jackson probably doesn’t even remember my name!”

“Well I happened to overhear Jackson and Cole talking about you today! Cole was like ‘Ella’s really cool and I really like her’ and Jackson was like ‘Yeah me too man, I just really started talking to her today though.” She said, trying  to make her voice deeper like Cole and Jackson’s.

”Everyone knows your name,” she continued, “for some weird reason people love you even though you don’t talk to anyone else! They’re all like ‘Ella looks so cool’ and ‘Ella is so hot’ and what not! Where have you been?”

“Um, no. You do not sound like Cole, or like Jackson.”

I really didn’t know. Over the past month at school I thought that I’d been blending in when, I guess, I’d actually been standing out. This wasn’t a new feeling, though. At my old school I was at the top. I came here thinking that I wouldn’t be noticed, when the complete opposite was happening. This was totally crazy.

“Well, I’m not the only person at our school named Ella! They could be talking about someone else!”

“Oh whatever Ella! How many people have the exact same name as you?”

“There might be someone else,” I said.

“Someone else whose name is Ella Rose Whitfield?”

“Possibly …” I said.

“No, just no. I’d be happy if everyone knew my name!”

“Kaylin ” I said, “ everyone knows your name …”

“Oh yeah! Anyways, just accept the fact that you’re popular!”

“Whatever …” I mumbled.

What was going on?

“Speaking of rumors,” I started, “ What’s going on with you and Alex?”

“OMG! I forgot to tell you about that! Brace yourself for this! HE ASKED ME OUT!” She yelled.

“I told you that he liked you!” I said.

“I know, I just couldn’t believe it.”

“This is why you should listen to me more,” I said matter of factly..

She rolled her eyes.

“Wait, what rumors are going around?” She asked.

“People said that you two were dating, I just wanted to confirm it.”

“When you and Cole, or Jackson, start dating, we can all double date! Or in your case, quintuple!” She exclaimed.

“What? First of all, there’s not going to be five couples. Second of all, there’s not going to be any double dating with me and you and Alex and Cole, or Jackson.”

“I’m confused … “ Kaylin said.

“So am I, which is exactly why this isn’t happening.”

“Ella, so you’ll see,” Kaylin insisted.

“I already see that you’re delusional.”

“No that’s supposed to be viceversa, you’re the one thats delusional Ella.”

“Don’t you have homework?” I asked.

“We both have homework?”

“I already did mine,” I said.

“When?” she asked.

I rolled my eyes and said, “In the two hours it took you to paint your nails, and ot text whoever you were talking to on your phone.”

“Oh, well yes I do have homework.”

I handed her, her backpack from the floor next to me.

“Thanks,” she said opening her Math notebook.

After a minute of staring at the page she asked, “What’s the answer to number one?”

“Kaylin, I’m gonna tell you the answers. Last time, I gave you all of the answers, so I basically did your homework for you.”

“Please! It’s so hard!”

“That’s what she said, but no.”

“One, you’re disgusting. And two, I need your help.”

“Look at you’re noted from today. She told us step by step how to solve the problems.”

She flipped through her notebook and scanned over the page. Then her face lit up and she said, “ OMG! This is so easy!”

She scribbled furiously in her notebook.

“Done!” she exclaimed.

“Told ya it was easy.”

In a hour she was done, which meant we could finally watch Twilight.

~

“The sexiness though!” Kaylin yelled. We were watching the scene where The Cullens and Bella were playing baseball, and Edward was protecting Bella from James.

“I know, I know,” I said.

We continued to eat our popcorn while we watched the movie.

After it was over, it was time for Kaylin to go home.

“Are you sure you don’t want to spend the night?” I asked. I knew it would be ok since it was a Friday.

“I would like to, but I have to go to my cousin’s wedding tomorrow, and I have a lot to do in the morning,” She explained.

“Oh! I didn’t know your cousin was getting married. Which one?”

“Jesy. You should totally come!”

“Really? Would that be okay?” I asked.

“I don’t see a problem with it. I’ll text you later,” she said before she left.
