Chapter 16

Morgan's POV

"Yeah," I said. "Nope. Not gonna happen."

"Alright," said JJ as a small black car pulled up. "That's Will."

"I'll see you tomorrow," said Alexis as they hugged. "Bye."

"Bye," said JJ as she got in the car. She put the window down. "Have a good night."

"Night girl," said Alexis as they drove off. "We need to go home."

"Come on," I said as I put my arm around her. She put her arm around my waist. We got into the SUV and I drove us home. We sat on the couch. "So, how was your day?"

"You seen me all day," said Alexis. "But same old, same old. Just no cases today."

"Well, you are an amazing agent," I said. "I have to put that out there."

"You've told me plenty of times," said Alexis smiling. "You never let me forget it."

"Because it's true," I said. "I would never let you forget it." I looked at her. "But you never told me one thing."

"What?" asked Alexis.

"You had four choir classes from your sophomore to senior year," I said. "And an ensemble group your senior year." I looked at her. "So, why don't you sing me a few bars?"

Alexis' POV

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah," said Morgan.

"Okay," I said. "Okay."

"Alright," said Morgan.

"Who will I be? Its up to me. All the never ending possibilities. Yes, I believe. I get to make the future what I want to," I sang as I looked at Morgan. "If I can become anyone, I know the choice is up to me. Who will I be?"

"Yes you can," said Morgan. "But you just be you." I love you for you."

"Thank you," I said. "I'm not going to change who I am."

"Let's get some sleep," said Morgan.

"I agree," I said. "And sleep in your own room."

"And use my own bathroom," said Morgan.

NEXT MORNING AT THE BAU

"Good morning everyone," I said as Morgan and I walked into the BAU. "I hope everyone's having a beautiful morning."

"What's up with you?" asked JJ.

"Just happy its a new day," I said smiling.

"That's one theory," said Prentiss smiling. "It could be because of Morgan."

"Prentiss, we did not do that last night," said Morgan. "So you can count that theory out."

"Thank you," I said. "We talked all last night." I looked at Prentiss. "I'm finally me."

"I thought you are you," said JJ.

"The real me," I said. "The singing side of me opened up last night."

"Morgan, you've opened up a cheerful girl," said Prentiss.

"I can be serious when needed," I said. I walked to my office. Morgan followed behind me. "I don't like my office. Everything has been changed."

"Changed everything?" asked Morgan. "What are you talking about?"

"It just feels different," I said. "Morgan, I know what my office is supposed to feel like to me. Never mind. Go."

Morgan's POV

"No, listen," I said. "I'm gonna stick around for a little while. I think you might need me."

"Stick around?" asked Alexis.

"Yeah. The team can handle one case without me," I said. "They'll be fine."

"Honey, I know you love me but you helping me scares me," said Alexis. "You don't know where I want things."

"Alexis, are you sure?" I asked.

"I'm completely fine," said Alexis. "Look, four range motion. Uh, uh, uh, uh."

"Stop, stop, stop," I said. "Would you stop with the uhs? Stop."

"Go," said Alexis sitting down.

I sighed. "You know I'm just a phone call away," I said.

"Thank you," said Alexis as I stopped at the door. "Go."

"Alright," I said. I closed the door behind me. "Do we have any cases?"

"No," said Reid.

"Alright," I said. I went back into Alexis' office. "No case." I sat on her couch. "Something on your mind?"

"I never thought life after college would be like this," said Alexis.

"Well, this is what recruitment is," I said.

"Did you get recruited during college?" asked Alexis.

"No, I actually graduated college with a masters," I said. "My FBI job came and it was my life after college. Two years ago."

"I thought college was the life," said Alexis. "I was wrong. It's —"

"Life after college," I said.
