A Hopeless Place

(Brendon's POV)

Sarah comes home to see me in my studio starring at the wall.

"Hey how was the park?" She asks with concern seeing me in my current state, spinning around in my chair, blasting music.

"Oh, yeah, it was good, the dogs seemed to have fun. It was nice getting them out again." I say snapping out of my Ryan Ross daydream for a second. I love Sarah but I can't get him off my mind. Maybe if I'm just honest I can make some good out of this, write a song... wait, I can't write the entirety of Vices and Virtues over again...

"Hey babe," I just need a permanent distraction, which isn't bad, it's not like I married Sarah without absolutely loving her. "Want to go out for dinner?"

"Sure!" she responds. Good, I can finally stop moping around.

We get ready and head out to a Italian place. When we arrive I can see a few people sat in the corner, whispering with their eyes wide looking right at me. I give a quick smile and tell the hostess to sit me as far away from them as possible. She leads us to the table and the waitress comes over so Sarah and I can order our food.

Her eyes sparkle in the small dim light above us.

"I love you." I say, and it's true, I do.

Sarah blushes a bit and a gentle grin is placed upon her face. "I love you too." She purrs back.

We leave the restaurant after we finish and start to walk around. Until I see a sign reading EMO Nite LA. "Hey why don't we check this out." I say through laughter.

We walk in to see a good sized crowd and a band playing on stage. They're not that bad honestly. I catch their name, it's cologne, sounds a bit pretentious. We stay in the back corner, they need all the attention they can get.

I'm starting to get a bit bored honestly, it's late. "You ready?" I ask Sarah.

"Let's stay for one more song." She says with a gentle smile. It's not like they're that great or anything...

"We have one more song to play and we have a friend helping us out!" The lead singer says into the mic. Great, who's this loser going to be. "Let's hear it up for Ryro!"

Then he walks up on stage.

:) I'll leave it at that for now. (Also I'm not sticking directly to when things actually happened sorry, it's just more interesting this way).
