Old Friends

My mind wanders on the drive home. I can barely concentrate on what Sarah is saying to me.

"That guy looked a bit familiar, do we know him?" Sarah asks.

"Nope, don't think so." I lie.

When we get home sleep is close to unimaginable. My mind plays through every situation where could "run into" him again.

I finally managed to get some sleep somehow.

You know what maybe I'll call up Spencer and ask him if he wants to hang out.

"Hey dude, what's up?"

"Nothing much man, you?" Spencer replies.

"Yeah same, want to come over for lunch?"

"Yeah!" I can practically hear Spencer's grin through the phone.

"Okay sounds good man, see you in a few."

"Yep, see ya."

When Spencer arrives he has a smile on his face and joy in his eyes. I don't think I have ever seen him this happy in the last few years he was in panic since Ryan and Jon left.

He had just gotten married to Linda, Sarah's best friend, and I honestly couldn't think of a more perfect fit.

"So how has married life been treating you?" I ask Spencer with a smirk.

"Pretty well." he grins back. "I don't know how you do it; touring for this long, almost 11 years, Bren. I could barely survive my 8."

"Yeah, it's pretty crazy."

"Ya know, sometimes I kind of miss the boys, I don't think I could go back to it though." Says Spencer.

"Everyday on twitter I get people saying they want a panic reunion, but it'll never happen. People are so hopeful, too bad it'll never happen. " He continues.

I glance over and nod.

"It was weird though, not having someone who I've been best friends with for the majority of my life not to be at my wedding..." Spencer says quietly.

"He probably wouldn't have came anyway knowing I'd be there." I shrug.

"He's not that low, geez Brendon. I know it was hard to go through that but it was 8 years ago and Halloween wasn't that bad. Aren't you over all of this by now?" Says Spencer.

"I'm over it, I just talked to him the other day and it was fine." I say cooly.

"What? I thought you were done trying to talk to him after Halloween went down." Spencer says.

"I didn't chase after him or anything, I just ran into him." I shrug.

Spencer rolls his eyes.
