After scanning through all the lore that you could get your hands on, your chances of even finding Nephthys weren't looking great.

Sam had headed off to take a shower, so you were left with Dean.

It was awkward to say the least.

You were both glad to be back together but there was the lingering thoughts about the last time you had seen each other.

"Y/n I think we need to talk" Dean finally bought it up.

"Yeah, I guess we do" you replied.

He looked up and met your eyes for a moment before his gaze returned to the floor.

Neither of you spoke further for a moment and each silent seconds felt like decades.

"It's my fault what happened to you" Dean blurted out all of a sudden.

You frowned at him "were you driving the car? Were you the idiot who didn't see the truck?" he looked up at you "exactly, it wasn't your fault Dean, it was mine".

He only looked sadder after you said this.

"No" he stated "I should never have spoken to you like that. You are a good hunter, it's just that I forget that sometimes".

Smiling at him you took his hand in your own "you don't need to explain to me Dean. I know you".

He let out a dry laugh at this and finally looked back up at you.

"I love you" he told you.

"I love you too Dean" you replied.

----

Day six came and went and you still hadn't managed to get anywhere.

"You'd think if he wanted you to kill the bitch, he could have at least told you where she was" Dean yelled as he paced the room.

Sam sat at the table, going through whatever possible leads he could find on his laptop.

"Dean calm down" you tried.

"Calm down!" he shouted once more "how can I calm down, I only just got you back and now I can't even manage to keep you here".

"Dean don't put this on yourself" you remained calm, not wanting a repeat of your last argument.

"Maybe he will give you more time?" Dean came to stand before you, desperation in his eyes.

Looking to your feet you smiled.

"What are you smiling about?" Dean asked in confusion.

"I did get more time Dean" you looked up at him "not many people do".

He shook his head at you "don't talk like that, we can still pull this off".

"It was a hopeless task Dean" you maintained your smile "but it gave me the chance to say goodbye properly.

"No!" Dean had tears in his eyes now.

"Dean please" you continued to smile but you too had tears in your eyes now.

"I can't lose you again" he whispered to you.

It broke your heart seeing him like this.

He was always so strong.

"Y/n, we still have a few hours" Sam spoke up "there's still time".

"I don't think there is Sam" you smiled as you held up the cuff that was now beginning to glow.

Sam and Dean's eyes both widened as they rushed over to you.

"Maybe if we get it off?" Sam looked over the cuff.

You placed your hand on top of his to stop him, making him look at you.

"It's ok Sam" you nodded "It's gonna be okay".

"Please don't leave me" Dean sounded so broken.

"I was never gonna get a long life Dean" you told him "it's this job. It's this life. But I was lucky enough to find you in the time that I had".

A tear fell from Deans eye and rolled down his cheek.

Turning away from him, you reached up and gave Sam a hug.

"Keep an eye on him for me will you" you spoke to him "and look after yourself too".

Sam hugged you tightly and you felt him nod against you.

Once you and Sam released each other, Sam forced a smile at you and left the room so that you and Dean could say goodbye properly.

The cuff shone brighter and brighter by the second.

"I need you to promise me that you will be okay" you allowed a tear to fall down your own face as you looked at Dean.

He remained quiet.

"You will be okay" you placed a hand on his cheek "and when it's all over, we will meet each other again in Heaven".

He let out a shuddering breath "I'm sorry".

"Don't start blaming yourself Dean. This is something that none of us could stop happening".

"If I had just found that stupid god then it would have all been-"

You cut off his rambling by crashing your lips desperately into his, savouring the moment since it was one of your last.

"I love you Dean Winchester" you mumbled against his lips.

He closed his eyes as he kissed you back.

But when he opened them once more, you were no longer there.

"Noooo!" he yelled as he threw the lamp across the room.

Sam came back into the room, on hearing the noise and looked around for you.

When he didn't see you, he knew that you had gone.

"Dean" he slowly approached his brother.

Dean didn't turn to look at him, he just fell to his knees and broke down.
