Isabelle Lightwood was an idiot. First she had taken a mission none of the experienced Shadowhunters had been willing to take, then she had refused backup. If she had had a few more people with her, hell, even if only Alec had come she probably wouldn't be in this situation. But she had refused. Now here she was, tied up to have who knows what done to her, at the hands of Valentine Morgenstern. She hoped that she got to deal with his wife, Jocelyn Morgenstern was supposed to be kind, and the light to her husband's darkness. But if you married a man like that, how kind could you be.

Isabelle then heard footsteps in the hallway, and a voice that was much to young to be Jocelyn. "I don't care what he did Jonathan" a pause, "No you can not kill him" she listened harder and heard muffled speech through the phone. "Why? Because he's my best friend and a god damned vampire you idiot, he'd kill you before you could even pull a knife out" she hung up. There was a pause, and then the door opened.

A red head stepped in. Her hair was in a high ponytail on the top of her head and it seemed as if it were darker in some spots than in others. She was wearing a black tee shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers. Her arms were dotted with scars, bruises, and runes. She was pale with bright green eyes that stood out on her face.  She looked about a head shorter than Isabelle but it was hard to tell. Despite the frustration in her voice before, she was grinning.

"Hello Isabelle Lightwood" she purred. Isabelle stayed silent. "What's a New Yorker like you doing so far in the woods?" She stalked closer. Isabelle blinked, realizing that they had done research on her. "Shouldn't you have brought more with you? The Morgensterns are hard to handle alone." The redhead was whispering in her ear now. Isabelle flinched despite herself. She drew back, clearly pleased that she had gotten a reaction. Isabelle gritted her teeth. "Do you think I haven't been asking myself the same question for an HOUR!" She had screamed the last word. "Oh look, she speaks" there was a satisfied gleam in her eyes. "Well city girl, why'd the clave send you?" She had spit the word clave like it was poison. To her it probably was. Isabelle went mute again. The redhead sighed, annoyed. "We have ways of making you talk, and it can be easy or," she kneeled, green eyes meeting blue, "it can be hard". Malice glinted in hers, while fear crept into Isabelle's. They had Clarissa Morgenstern, the girl who could probably create a rune to find exactly why she was here, but there were so many other ways that she could be made to talk. Isabelle took a deep breath "I'm here to find Clarissa Morgenstern" A Cheshire cat's smile crept onto her face. She took a dramatic bow, "Clary Morgenstern at your service".
