After losing her daughter Dinah vowed never to sing again. She quit the band and went back to school. After school she had to figure out how she was gonna make a living, since she no longer wanted to sing. She decided she still wanted to do something dealing with the arts. She wanted to start a business in which she contributed to the music industry. She went back to school for a bit, where she attended business college. It was there she decided that her business would be selling instruments and giving lessons for those instruments and for vocals. It would be called Dawn of Joy's Musical Technologies, or DJ's MT's for short, The name was a way to have her name hidden but so that no one would directly be able to link in to her. She didn't want to be bombarded by old fans everyday, no matter how much she loved them. The company kick started in 2022 and now in 2032 is a big success. People come from all over to get lessons from DJ'S MT's. People of all backgrounds from different countries come to her business just to learn, and she does have connections to a couple of record labels, so if one of the teachers think you're exceptionally good, they'll refer your name to Dinah who will contact the correct label. The company is so successful that Dinah is one of the richest people in the world, which is a given since some of the other richest people in the world send their children to America just to be taught.
...
"Dinah there's someone on the phone for you," Linda, secretary to Dinah Jane, said.
"What do they want?" Dinah asks mindlessly as she types away. "I'm not sure, he's rambling on about being guilty and dying," Linda replied.
"He's probably just another whack job trying to get ahold of Dinah Jane, the pop star. Not Dinah Jane, the CEO. Tell him I'm busy." Dinah answered. Linda nodded. "I'm sorry sir. Ms. Hansen is terribly busy at the moment. I'm afraid she cannot take your call. Goodbye," Linda said.
Dinah smiled and said, "Thanks Lin."
"No problem DJ. I'll see you tomorrow ok," Linda said as she punched out. "Ok, see ya," said Dinah.
As her secretary walked out, Dinah did one hour worth of work before calling it a day. She grabbed her things and started to leave. As she left the building she was approached by a middle aged man who looked rather deathly.
"Are you Dinah Jane Hansen?" The Man asked.
Dinah reached in her purse for her tazer she kept in case of emergencies because L.A isn't really the safest of places. "And who does this concern?" she inquired.
"The doctor who helped deliver her child 15 or so years ago," The Man said now certain he was talking to Dinah as he looked her in the eyes.
Dinah went from defensive to shocked in seconds. She put her taser back as her face questioned him silently. "What do you want?" Dinah asked as she walked towards the parking garage that held her car. Shocked that Dinah was even willing to talk to him, he fell behind, but quickly caught up.
"Well-uh- Ms. Hansen- I was the doctor in charge that day you were brought into the hospital and- I um- currently I am very ill, with only a week or two to live. In fact it took great persuading to allow my family to let me outside the house to meet you and-" The Man/Doctor started to say.
"I will certainly help pay your medical bills. Anything for the doctor that did all he could to save my baby girl," Dinah said as she reached her car and turned to face him.
He looked shocked. "Yes, I remember you doctor. My parents told me you did everything to save my little girl, and I'm thankful. I will gratefully help you pay your bills," Dinah said with a small smile.
She was always such a kind hearted person, and that's what the man/doctor saw in her those many years ago. That is why his confession would hurt him more than anything. "Um-no Ms. Hansen- I'm well off to pay my own bills, and actually the reasoning behind it is why I'm here today," The Man/Doctor said. She was confused on what he was getting at. "What do you mean?" Dinah asked. The man/doctor looked down at the ground as he cleared his throat.
"Ms. Hansen..." he started, "15 years ago you were told by myself and my staff that your baby died due to heart complications. Today I'm here to apologize for the terrible lie that we told..."
"I'm afraid I don't quite understand," Dinah said with a slight laugh, "What exactly are you saying?" She said getting serious.
"I'm saying that your child is very much alive. She did not die that night on (Y/B/D-Your B-Day) 2017 because of heart complications. She was very much healthy, but because a man came to my staff and offered us 5 million dollars each, we faked the death and sent your daughter to the authorities who we told the child's mother had died at birth. In turn they took her to an orphanage somewhere in the country," said The Man/Doctor.
Mixed emotions flooded through Dinah. She was angry at first, almost murderous. Then she was sad, realizing her daughter had lived in the world for 15 and half years without knowing her. Then she was happy, knowing her daughter got a chance at life and that she didn't die 15 minutes after birth. Happiness was the last emotion to come upon her, so in turn she hugged the man. And that greatly shocked him. "Um Ms. Hansen are you alright?" asked The Man/Doctor.
"I don't know... But my baby is alive and I'm just really happy. Thank you for telling me," Dinah said through tears.
"You aren't mad?" asked The Man/Doctor.
"Yes, and no. I'm so incredibly mad and disappointed that you and your staff did this to me, to my family, and especially to my daughter... We'll never get to have those mother daughter moments. She's practically an adult. In 6 months she'll be 16, meaning two more years til 18. I still remember what she looked like, after only seeing her for like 5 seconds. She was beautiful. Her beautiful Y/E/C (Your eye color) eyes, and long lashes. And her hair was such a gorgeous shade of Y/H/C (Your hair color). And I'll never get to see her grow up. Never get to see her eyes wonder curiously as she learns new things. Never see her hair grow. Never see her bat her eye lashes at me to get her way. I'll never see her grow up .But in these last few moments I have forgiven you, because you tracked me down and found me. I have been off the grid for years, I made it my soul priority to make sure no one knew of my whereabouts after that day, so I know you must have dug hard to find me. You fixed your actions, you've given me a chance to find her and be apart of her life, that's all that matters. I forgive you, and I thank you," confessed Dinah.
Now the man started to cry.
"What's wrong sir?"
"I was so sure you would hate my guts for what I did. I was so sure you'd throw a punch or two. What I did was unforgiveable, and you just forgave me like that, and I don't know what to think... You've got a big heart Ms. Hansen. I'm so sorry for what I did," The Man/Doctor apologized.
"It's fine, I forgive, you can clear your conscience."
He cried even more.
"Thank you. Thank you so much," The Man/Doctor cried.
They hugged it out.
"Is there anyway I can help you Ms. Hansen, I'd like to help you locate your daughter before I die," said The Man/Doctor.
"If you'd really like to help, I'd like you to use your tracking skills and connect with the other girls of Fifth Harmony for me. It's time for the band to get back together..." Dinah said with a big ess smile!
A/N: Dinah's business sounds like a school, but it's not. A school would imply academics, her business focuses solely on the music.
