"I just wanted to be normal..."

I stared at my locker which was vandalized with black expo marker. Words like freak, loser, and moron. I tried to ignore it as I got all my books out of my locker.

"Hey, Fenturd!" Came an almost nauseatingly familiar voice. I suppressed a groan as I turned and found Dash, fists balled, sauntering towards me.

"Not now, Dash. I've got a lot on my mind at the moment."

"What? Any ghosts haunting the boys' bathroom?" Dash chuckled. This was a totally normal insult. I could see ghosts. Was there really something wrong with that? I mean, my parents hunted ghosts, so maybe people just assumed I was crazy like them, but for me, it was all too real.

My older sister, Jazz, seemed too busy to pay much attention to me, with her going off to collage soon and all. I really didn't want he to go. Ever since I'd let it slip that I'd been seeing things, dad's wanted to do some weird testing or whatever on me to understand how I was different. My mom, on the of he hand, tried to get him to leave me alone. After all these years, I think she was finally starting to doubt ghosts existed and was worried that their obsession had caused me to start seeing things. I'd never seen them fight while I was growing up, bit now, I could hardly be in the same room as the two of them when they were at each others  throats, and I couldn't help by think it was all my fault.

Oh, and I have ghost powers.

Long story short, I got this brilliant ides to try and get the 'ghost portal' working for dad. I accidentally activated it while I was still inside and I...changed. Now I can change into my ghostly form whenever I want to, or at least when I have the energy. However, once I change, no one can see me. I become just like a ghost.

Dash suddenly shoved me against my locker. "See you after school, Fenturd!"

"A-after school?" I asked.

He simply smirked. "Be there, or else."

A shiver ran up my spine like it always did when Dash threatened me. I ha no friends to stick up for me, I didn't fight back when they beat me up, and having an ability to see ghosts seemed  to be the main reasons people bullied me.

I turned back towards the Expo marker on my locker, deciding to ignore it. As I was turning away, I noticed two of my classmates whispering to each other. They must be dating, I thought. That was sad, since that girl was really cute, in a scary, Gothic type of way. I'd seen her and the dark skinned 'techno geek' together and  assumed they were an item. The boy pointed a me and the girl shook her head. I suppressed an eye roll. I talk to ghosts. It's not that weird!

School was boring, like always, and I had a ton of homework to finish that night. I really did not want to deal with Dash that day.

The final bell rang and I took my time collecting my things. Please let him have forgotten this stupid thing...and please don't have it be another trip to a graveyard...

I was making my way towards the back of the school when someone grabbed my arm. "Hey, Fenton, right? Danny Fenton?"

I turned around and was met with intense green eyes. It was the kid who was dating Sam Mason, the girl I had called cute earlier. Oh, and speaking of Sam, she was right behind him, looking even cuter up close. "Um...can I help you?"

"You see ghosts, right?"

I sighed. "Why do you care? Leave me alone. It's not that weird!"

"Weird?" The kid asked. "No way! We totally believe you. It's awesome!"

I blinked. "Huh?"

"Look," Sam said. "We both saw Dash threatening you today. In exchange for our protection, you tell us everything about ghosts. Okay?" For some reason, she didn't look too thrilled about all this ghost stuff as her boyfriend was.

"Oh, I'm Sam by the way, and this is Tucker."

"I know," I said. "Wait! Sorry, that was creepy...um, I'm sorry to crash you date, but-"

The two of them bursted out laughing. "A date!"

I felt my face heat up. "W-what? You two aren't a thing?"

Sam shook her head. "We've been friends since eighth grade. That would be weird."

"And I don't feel that way about Sam. And besides, she has a crush on someone else." Sam's elbow rammed into Tucker's chest, and not too lightly. "Ow!"

"Well, either way, I've gotta run. I'll have to tell you some other time, okay?"

"Hold on," Tucker said. "We've seen the way Dash bullies you. If you're going to got your butt handed to you, we'll be there to stop him."

"Bullied...is kinda a harsh word," I mumbled to myself. I wasn't some weak victim. I stopped rough ghosts in my free time! He just...used me as a punching bag every once in a while.

Afterwards, I was glad that Sam and Tucker went to meet Dash with me. It seemed to put him off that there was someone other than me there. "Who's your friends, Fenton? The techno geek and goth girl?"

I hesitated before I answered. "Um...yeah. Look Dash, I just want to go home. I'm not in the mood for whatever you're up to, okay?"

"That's out of the question, nerd! I've had a bad day, a bad week in fact, and the only thing that will get my mind off my troubles is messing with you."

"Buzz off, Dash," Sam said, crossing her arms. "Me and Tucker just wanted to let you know that Danny will be hanging out with us from now on, and you're not gonna be treating him as a punching bag anymore." She grabbed me by the back of the shirt and pulled me away from Dash. "Let's most be it, Fenton!"

Dash's glare sent a shiver down my spine, but I let the two of them lead me away. "Wow. Thanks a ton," I said. "N-no one's ever stood up like that for me before."

"Don't sweat it," Tucker said. "Now, about those ghosts..."

I've been wanting to write a Danny Phantom story for a while and k thought this crossover would work really well since both have ghosts. I'll also be adding my own tweaks so it might not be exactly like Danny Phantom or Paranorman.

Also, don't expect fast updates! I'm a slow author!

Thanks!
