Watching The Sunset

*Annie's POV*

"Bye Hayley!", I scream as I close the house door for the last time this summer. I can't wait to finally be in California, having the time of my life. I would happily move to California, but that would mean, possibly going back to public school and changing gyms. But I don't want to do that because I love the homeschool program, and my gym.

I video Hayley waving from the window as I slowly make my way to my Range Rover. It was my dream car, and I got it for my 16th birthday last year. No surprises that my dad gave it to me. Dad gives Hayley and my mum presents, but I just have to pretend they are from me, so they think I'm buying them expensive presents when I'm really not.

I put my suitcase in the back, along with my carry on. I walk around to the drivers side door and stop for a minute. I've never been this nervous before, i don't know why I am now? I take a big breathe in before getting into the car. Maybe because it's the first year travelling by myself. Every year dad will fly to Maryland, and then fly with me back to California. But since I'm old enough to do things myself, why not do it.

"Hey guys! It's Annie, it's 6am and I'm on my way to the airport. It's my first time flying by myself, and I'm pretty nervous! I can't wait for you guys to see my vacation vlogs, I'm sure you will love them", I turn the camera off and put it on the passenger seat along with my phone.

I start my car engine up and give one last toot, to mum and Hayley standing at the window waving. I wave back and blow them a kiss before heading off to the airport.

"24K MAGIC IN THE AIRRRRRRRRRRR", I scream out as I'm driving to the airport. It's my favourite song, and he's the one artist I would do anything to go and see in concert. Especially if he played that song.

I arrive at the airport and park my car in the long term car parking. It was my only option, considering I'm gone for the whole summer holidays. I grab my phone and camera from the front seat and start to vlog again.

"I'm at the airport now, and I've never been this nervous before in my life! Apart from maybe elite competitions, but I'm still so nervous!", I chuckle before shutting off the camera, getting my luggage out of the back and locking up my car.

I walk into the domestic departures and pull my phone out. I stand in front of the big sign and take a picture. I send it to dad along with the message:
Can't wait to see you x I've missed you so much!
I check my bag in and head down towards the food area. My phone vibrates and I pull it out to check the message from my dad.
Miss Julianna, I'm so sorry that I won't be able to come and pick you up from the airport, I'm so busy with the kids as Julia is at work, the taxis are pretty easy to find, but text me if you need any help x

Well that's great. Oh well, at least I'm going to California and I get to see my dad! I grab some Pita Pit and sit down and eat it. I see a couple of girls screaming and running towards me in the distance. They must be fans. I quickly pull my camera out to video them coming towards me.

"ANNIE! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!", the scream.
I have a slight chuckle to myself.
"Hey girls! Here I'll sign that for you", I say while taking their Annie LeBlanc shirts out of their hands.
"Please make vlogs with some other people soon! Like friends and boys! I love those ones!", one girl says.
I can't help but smile and how cute they are.
"Well I have to go and catch a plane, nice meeting you girls!", I say before giving them a hug.

"Well that is what happens when you are a youtuber", I say into the camera.

I walk towards my boarding gate and see that my flight is already starting to board. Dad paid for me to be sitting in first class, which is good, because I always fly in first class. It's just a joke, because I go to 1st Class Gymnastics.

I hand over my ticket and walk through the long tunnels into the plane. I'm greeted by the air hostess at the front and she guides me to where I need to go. I decide to take a window seat.

This flight is full, which means that someone definitely has to sit by me. I pull my laptop out and put my headphones in and decide to get some school done before we have to take off. I strap my seatbelt up, because that is one thing that always makes me feel safe.

I'm too busy doing school, that I didn't even notice a boy around my age sit down in the seat next to me. He taps me gently on the shoulder.

"We are going to take off soon and you might need to put your laptop and your tray up", he says while smiling.

I just nod and smile while packing everything up. He seems like a nice guy, even though he has only said one sentence to me.

The captain talks over the speaker and tells us that we are about to take off. I try to do my seatbelt tighter than it already is done up and close my eyes. I lean back in my seat with both hands firmly gripped on the arm chairs.

I hear the boy next to me slowly laugh.

"I'm guessing this is your first time flying by yourself?", he asks.

I just nod.

"Well there's nothing to be worked about, it's not that scary", he replies.

I just smile.

"I'm guessing you are really really scared", he laughs.

I nod again.

"If you want, I can hold your hand, you know for comfort or I could just idk not", he laughs.

I look at him with an unusual look but then realise how much it will actually help me. I slowly nod my head and he smiles.

He moves his hand grips mine.
He moves his thumb around the palm of my hand instantly calming me.

It's not often a person I just met can have an effect on me.
