Watching The Sunset

*Annie's POV*

The plane slowly starts to lift off and I feel the boys grip release from my hand. I take a deep breath. Everything is fine. I turn to look at him and mouth him "Thank You", because I know that he wouldn't be able to hear me over the sound of the engines. He smiles and turns back to look at his screen. I decide to watch a movie on Netflix on my laptop. I open it up and decide on Cabin In The Woods. It looks really good.

I start to watch it before I realise that it is a horror. I let out a big scream and slam my laptop down. The boy next to me slightly chuckles and I start stare out the window. Great Annie. Embarrassing yourself infront of a boy who is around your age! How stupid are you? I can't bare to look at him now, so I decide that it's time to sleep.

I close my eyes slowly and listen to my heartbeat.

"Please ensure that you seat belts are on, your blinds are up and so are your trays", the captain announces over the speaker. We are just about to land in California. I can't wait to get off the plane and see my dad. If I could live with my dad, i would. I open my blind and push my tray up. I do my seatbelt up as tight as i can, because I don't want to die. I know that's probably taking things too far, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I watch closely out the window as the plane wheels touch down on the ground. A sense of relief goes through my body. People start cheering so I join in with them.

I grab my back from underneath the seat infront of me and stand up. The boy sitting next to me stands up and opens the overhead locker. He grabs down my bag and hands it to me.

"Here you go", he smiles.
"Thanks", I smile back.
"After you", he motions for me to go out infront of him.

I smile and take him up on his offer. I walk out of the aircraft, the boy following close behind me. I can't wait to see my dad! I should probably text him to find out where is his when I get into the arrival area. I carry on walking and the boy waves to me before he walks off into the distance and I sit down to text my dad. And that's when I realised that I have to catch a taxi but I have no idea where to go. This airport is so big, I could easily get lost.

The boy I sat next to on the plane was just about of site when I came up with an idea. He helped me on the plane, I'm sure he can help me again! I grab my bag and start running through the airport. I can actually run pretty fast. Probably because I have to be fit and fast for gymnastics. I carry on running. He's getting closer and closer and I am just about at him. If only I knew his name. Then I could call out to him.

I carry on running, my legs are starting to get tired. I keep running and before I know it I finally make it to him. I'm huffing and puffing so I am sure he can hear me behind him but I tap him on the shoulder anyway.
