Chapter 3:
Okay, so a quick note before you read this. I am most likely going to make 2 versions of this Book from here on. Whether that is during or after the original is published I am not quite sure but for now, if you like this book and my writing style than I hope this is enough. Enough of my rambling, ON TO THE BOOK.
This is so weird. Everything about this place has a hazy glow to it. It's as if it's a dream, but this feels way to real.
There is a pretty basic house in front of me that I automatically recognize as my own.
It looks like it is about the middle of winter out here, yet I am not cold, and from when I last remember it was Fall. I must of been out for longer than I anticipated.
I hear blood curdling screams coming from my house and immediately start running. I get to the door and it is already open a crack, so I just have to push it a little bit for it to swing open. I look around the house and see my mom and a little girl sitting at a table staring at a table covered in fake plates all surrounding a adorable cake in the middle. The little girl looks so sad. I walk closer, until I can see her face clearly and know what this is.
January 19th 2005, my 7th birthday party;
"I knew no one was going to show up, no body likes you enough." My mom says in a tone so calm, it's worse than when she yells.
"I'm-I'm.... S-sorry" I say through sniffling and a continuous flow of tears, not even trying to hold back how sad I am.
"What ever" Mom says as she takes a longer than usual swig from her flask.
I run upstairs crying, and don't look behind me because I know she doesn't care what I do.
I slam my bedroom door shut and jump onto my bed, cradling myself under my blankets, sobbing only slightly muffled by my pillows.
I heard faint laughing out side my window, I take a moment to try to calm myself down before looking to see the cause. Surprise, surprise, it's me.
Outside my window is the young versions of Stephanie and her bitch squad. I can barely even stand looking at younger me without almost crying myself. I know what happens now.
Downstairs there is a bang and even though little me runs downstairs to see, I stay here. I know what happens all to well.
My mom, she cut herself, badly, after stumbling while making herself some food I assume. She almost died that night, and I know it makes me a bad person, but sometimes, I wish she had.
I know myself has found her from the ear piercing shriek from below me. I squint my eyes shut, unable to deal with it and find myself in the high school, in a very recent scenario actually, this one I can sit through.
I start viewing the event right after I fell, yesterday when Aaron caught me.
I relive it all, only this time I really see it, not like before as a dream.
His hair falling perfectly and his eyes daring me to respond with every sentence he said.
I swoon when he bites his lip, just like the first time.
All of the sudden there is a tap on my shoulder, I jump and look behind me to be greeted with... Is that... No, it can't be.
"I guess your wondering what all this is, huh?" My dad says in a soft tone.
I almost cry, forcing myself not to fall into his arms and never let go of him again.
"Daddy, I have missed you so much, what is this? Why am I here?" I say not even attempting not to cry anymore.
"Honey, your dying."
My knees buckle and I fall to the ground. "What do you mean. No. No, no no. This CANNOT be happening." I don't know why I care so much, I wanted this... Right?
"I'm so sorry hunny" he says, again, way to calmly.
"I need to get back, I refuse to die. I CAN'T let them win." I say, straight face, but still unable to move off of the floor.
"Just come with me, it will be okay" he extends his arm towards me.
I get up finally, but don't grab his hand. "I love you dad, you know that right?"
"Of course darling"
"Okay, I'm sorry, I really am."
"For wha-" he doesn't get to finish his sentence before I start running away, and don't stop.
I run for what feels like an eternity, than, I, of course, faint or fall, I guess it was kind of both.
I wake up in a pale pink room with people in white all around me. I hear a faint beeping of a machine that must be my heart rate, and it smells to clean in here. I squint my eyes because it is so bright and look to my right. There is a cup of water and some flowers on a small wooden table.
I chug the water and stare at the flowers. There is a note on them but it is to difficult to read right now.
A woman to my right sticks a needle in my arm and I let out a gasp in reaction to the small burst of pain.
My eyelids start drooping shut again and I slowly fall back asleep to the faint sound of my heart. Thump thump, thump thump.
