Hiding Behind My Wolf

Chapter 4

Lila

    Taking in a deep breath, I walked on all fours towards a stream. Looking down at my reflection I saw, a white wolf with red on its snout and speaks of red on its body making it seem like blood was splattered on as a work of art. I was completely surprised, 'And you never showed me our coat!?' I said to Ash, 'I thought you would hate it and never turn again.' Ashes voice was covered in sadness, 'I wouldn't ever do that to you, I love you and wouldn't change you for anything!' I yelled happily, 'And now I am you!' She just giggled in our head, 'Okay I'm hungry can we eat now?!' Ash started to complain, 'Yes my blood sucking demon,' I said with a laugh. Taking off I started to sense a vampire near and it was getting closer, smirking I went behind a tree and changed into my human form and put on my dress. Ashka took control and began sniffing the air, 'The vampire's close by,' she said with happiness in her voice. She held out our arm and bit it, causing blood to gush out. 'Rub it on you, it'll smell the blood better.' I told her with a smirk. She did as I said and we just sat against a tree in wait of our pray.

Ashka

About ten minutes of waiting I was getting board, so I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. I heard a twig snap a moment later, causing my eyes to shoot open, In front of me was a tall man with glowing red eyes.

After a minute he said something, "Do you need any help young lady?" His voice sounded strong, But it didn't faze me. "Ya, can you help me out of here?" I said in the weakest voice I had, he only smirked at my question. "Ya I can help, what's your name." He said while getting on one knee and handing me a hand, "Lila, what's yours?" He raised his head as soon as he heard my name, 'Why did you say my name Ashka and not yours?' Lila asked, but before she could answer my question the man asked his own question. "And your last name?" He sounded scared for a second and I didn't know why, "Nixtion." I told his and his reaction was falling on to his knees, "Don't kill me! I work for the prince!" He yelled out and I became completely lost in this conversation, "I'm sorry?" I said in a confused and questioning tone.

Soon enough he stopped whining for his life and I took my chance. I made him look me into my eyes as I said, "Don't make a sound or move." And with that he sat still and I went for his neck, once my teeth were in blood started to flow into my mouth. Once done I let go and he looked into my eyes making it easier for me, "Go home and never remember this again." I said with a stern voice, he got up and left not saying a word. 'Why would we kill when we hunt?' Lila asked me, 'I have no idea Lila, but it seems like a big deal to keep your name a secret.' She knotted her head and said, 'Just tell them your name.' Then walked to the back of my mind, 'I just hope this doesn't involve our mate.' I thought with a sigh.

I changed back into my wolf and made my way to the pack house. Once I was at the front of the yard, I could see pack members from both packs socializing. Soon enough they noticed me and went silent, I could feel eyes on me from every direction. Going behind a tree I shifted and changed into my human form and dress, walking from behind the tree I could hear gasps once both packs saw me. I could see Andrew and Mike in the small crowd, Andrew ran up to me with worry on his face. "Are you hurt? Do you need the pack ne-" I cut him off, "I'm fine Andrew, I just had dinner. That's all." He looked even more worried now after I mention my dinner, "Did you kill it or is it still alive?" He asked me, "Yes, He's perfectly fine and he's on his way home right now." I said blankly, "He?" I knotted my head 'yes'. "What was he?" Mike finally asked, "A vampire what else would he be a ghost?" I said sarcastically to him. "Now if you'll excuse me I am going to sleep." And with that I past by everyone into the pack house.

Closing the door behind me I turned to see Lane and Jace having an argument. 'What are they fighting about?' Lila asked, 'I don't know you want to check it out?' I asked her and she knotted her head. Walking up towards the two I put a hand on Lanes shoulder, causing him to tense up. As he turned he thrown a fist at my face, but I caught it. Once Lane saw my bloody face he took a step back looking scared to death, "What happened?" Lane's voice was hesitant for a second giving off a weary vibe. "Dude chill, Andrew and Mike has already smothered me enough with stupid questions and no one is dead." I told him and not even looking at Jace. "But, But-" Was all Lane could say before I turned on my heal and made my way up the stairs, but before I made it fully up the stair case, "See ya'll tomorrow morning!" I said with a laugh.

Making my way to my bedroom door I could feel eyes on me as I turned at every corner and went up every staircase. Once at my bedroom door, I felt a strange feeling in my stomach. Moving the feeling aside I reached for the door knob and turned it to open the door. Walking into the room I noticed a bouquet of white, red, and black roses laying on my bed with a note attached to it. Walking over toward my bed I picked up the note and read it out loud.

     Dear Lila and Ashka,

     I understand that the switch has been made, I hope to see how lovely you two have grown.

                Your Mate.

   Okay so bed time, I've had enough for one day of torment.
