Chapter 4.5 - Girls Night In
10:00am
I ran up to the second floor of the apartment and hurried inside, making sure to lock the door. Leaning against the door frame I sank down to the floor, clutching my top and desperately trying to steady my breathing. I closed my eyes and wondered if I should call the police; then again, I doubted that the guy would bother me again, at least for that day. I didn't want to worry the guys or bring the police to the apartment on Ella's last day. I can always just call them tomorrow. I'm sure it'll be fine. I stood up and started tidying the house: sweeping, mopping, washing, dusting- you name it. It turned out that the more urgently you need a place to be clean the more dirt you'll find! However, I eventually threw myself on the couch in an almost brand-new space and took a "quick" nap. At least, it felt like it.7:45pm
Slowly, I opened my eyes lazily and sat up, feeling refreshed."What's the time?" I yawned, stretching out my limbs.
"7:46pm" a voice replied. Darting off the couch, I ran into the kitchen to see the time: 7:47. Oh dear! This is bad... I haven't decorated the house with Kacy yet!
"Hello!" I recognised the previous voice to be Kacy's and responded to it, albeit quite late. Re-entering the living room I saw the whole place decorated: food sat on the tables and kitchen sides, farewell banners were strewn across the walls and hung from the ceiling, board games lay beside the carefully placed plates and a stereo softly played pop music- by the time the party started the cheap thing would be outdoing itself.
"Hey, sleepy-head! While you were taking a nap I had to decorate this entire house with the help of Rachel while listening to Chelsea's constant yapping. I'm surprised you didn't wake up with all that noise."
Whilst still walking down the hallway I turned and said, "Thanks for doing all of this. You're the best!"
"I know!" she replied, giggling.
Smiling, I opened the bedroom door and walked into the bathroom to quickly draw myself a bath. Walking back into the bedroom I laid out a plain (f/c) tank top and some black boyshorts to go with it. After stopping the bath I locked the door, grabbed a towel from the cabinet, tied my (h/l) hair in a messy bun and cautiously stripped from my clothing. I stepped into the tub and sunk down covering myself with the bubbles that floated gently on the water. Sinking further I started to feel my stress slowly melt away. "Today's been way too hectic," I said to myself. Sighing, I sat up and grabbed some shaving gel and shaved my body.
Some minutes later, I grabbed the towel, wrapped it around my body and headed to the bedroom. After drying myself I changed into the tank top and shorts. Then, I wiped off any makeup from earlier and redid my hair so it was down, then brushed my teeth. Looking at my phone I saw it was 6:10.
I walked out of the door and headed to the living room where Kacy stood with Rachel. They looked like they were discussing something important.
"Hey, where's Chelsea?" I asked, grabbing their attention.
"She said she needed to speak with Jake about something," Rachel answered flatly.
She's probably gonna break up with him then. Too bad. I barely knew Jake but he seemed like a player. Honestly, it seemed as if Chelsea was picking those types of guys more and more, almost as if to say that a girl could do exactly the same thing to them as they did to other girls. Although, he did seem friendly. Perhaps his behaviour was because he was in a relationship? I stifled a laugh; Chelsea drew looks wherever she went so Jake must have thought himself a winner. Now he'll be a loser and I don't pity him. Maybe if he'd spent more time with the group as a whole I'd have more sympathy but all I know is that he's attractive enough to draw girls like moths.
