Fireplace - A.Z

3 friends, looking at a fire
Paper burning,
written on it are words that hurt,
Words that followed,
Words that changed,
Words that had to go.

All three of them, standing there
Carrying a heavy backpack full of hurt,
Hurt that destroys,
Hurt that makes sad,
Hurt that kills.

In front of them, a small fire
Burning away the words that hurt,
Words that followed,
Words that changed,
Words that had to go.

With the paper burns away the hurt,
Not for forever,
Not for a day,
But for the moment.

A way to let go of the hurt.
Of trying to let go,
Not for forever,
Not for a day,
But for the moment.

A spark of hope. Only a small one.
An act of support. Without words.

3 friends, looking at a fire,
Carrying a heavy backpack full of hurt,
Different hurt, caused by different things.
But 1 thing connects them.
They are hurting,
And they are trying to let go,
Not for forever,
Not for a day,
But for the moment.

~dedicatedto the friends that hurt, with the words that followed and the hurt thatdestroyed.
