I sighed when Tristen walked back to our table. If he would have ditched me, he would have learned a whole new meaning of hatred.
"Who was it?" I asked not caring WHO it was but WHY it took so long.
"One of my ex's." He said so calmly.
" You know, I'm new to this whole dating thing but I'm sure your not supposed to mention any ex's"
"You asked."
Okay. This boy is defiantly trying to get on my bad side. He's acting like a jerk!
Just then a few boys I recognized from Tristens popular group, came into the restaurant. They headed straight for our table.
" Hey Tristen!" The loudest of the group slapped skin with Tristen.
"Sup." he said looking at me apologetically.
" I thought you were supposed to ditch this girl to come out with us and Arlia."
"Dude, she's my ex, besides I'm here with... Uhm.."
"Rose." I said through clenched teeth.
"Right."
" But just on the phone you said, to give you a few minutes and you'd be on your way."
" Well, yeah. But..." Tristen looked at me nervously. Then he whispered. " I'm with her right now."
I stood up abruptly.
" Rose, wait I can explain. See, Arila was my first love and she was comming into town. I totally forgot when I asked you out. I want to see her. Shes only here for a day."
I considered accepting his explanation but if he just didn't mention love.
"Goodbye."
I ran out of the restaurant to find out it was raining. Great, just great. My lunch ends with the best thing. A cloudy afternoon to represent what all relationships end up as. Dark and gloomy. In tears.
I let my salty, sweet tears mix in with the falling rain as I ran. I'm not going home though. How could I ever think things would work out with HIM.
