Chapter 11

"Get off me.... Get off me. STOP!" I yelled as I tried to break free of his grasp.

"Aw, babe, stop it. I know you love it really. You loved it before..." Jay moaned as he began to take off my jacket. I was kicking screaming, but there was nothing I could do. Laying there, silently, struggling to move as the boy I used to love was adamantly trying to force himself on me. "Niall," I sobbed. Jay put his hand on my mouth.

"He can't hear you, Kayleigh Cat." one of his friends, Matthew, smirked. They all stared at me as Jay abused me.

I knew the police would be here in a bit so I just tried to fight my way out. No matter what, I wouldn't let him do things to me that we hadn't already done when we were together. I kicked him in the shin and he fell back. I left some of my clothes and just grabbed my big coat. I was saving Niall. They chased me with knives -  I didn't care. I ripped my way out of the abandoned bush to find our apartment door, Niall crying on the floor. He'd obviously tried to get out to protect me. He had a slit in his leg and I knew who it was.

Jordan. Jordan was the only one not there when I was being attacked. It must have been him. I heard the footsteps behind me. I immediately turned around and let off a mighty punch, all the anger I have ever felt before. Jordan hit the floor with a thud. I knew Jay would be hiding somewhere. I pushed Niall into the apartment the best I could and slammed the door.  I stood against it, hoping the strength I had only just discovered could stop Jay from entering. Meanwhile, I knelt down and rolled up Niall's suit to see the deep slit in his knee. I flinched at the sight of his blood.

"What did they do to you Kayleigh Cat?" he half managed to say. His voice was shaky and stuttering, but I knew what he said.

"Let's not think about that now. The police will be here in a minute." I whispered. I kissed Niall when I heard the noise I'd been waiting for - the sound of the police sirens.
