How Can I Love When My Heart's In Pieces (High School AU [King x OC{Anura}])

Chapter I

Anura's POV

"Gowther, do I have to go with you again?" I whined as he blocked the screen of the TV. My hair was a mess and I sat in a crop top and sweat pants as I tried to watch the anime I'd just started last night. I had a gotten a few hours of sleep, but I'd watched almost three quarters of Death Note.

"Yes. You've been cooped up in this house all summer. You've only been outside for two days over the past three months!" My older brother said as he readjusted the glasses on his face and brushed some of his dyed pink hair out of his face.

"Gowther. I'd rather not see.....His face ya know.....I don't exactly want to see him....." I said, crossing my arms across my chest.

Gowther gave a long sigh. "I understand you're heart was broken, but please? For me?" He said, giving me the puppy eyes.

"Don't do that Gowther." I said, but he just went down on his knees. He set his hands and chin on the couch, looking up at me with those golden eyes of his. "Fiiiiine!" I groaned as I said this.

Gowther sprung up and smiled. "Fantastic! Make yourself presentable. We're leaving in a half hour!" He said, bounding up the stairs.

I sighed and turned off the TV. "Hmm...I guess I should get started getting ready then...." I said. I slid off of the couch and stood up, heading to my room. I looked at myself in the mirror I had in my room. I had to admit. I did look like crap. I definitely wasn't going out to meet my friends looking like this. I grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom to take a shower

Slight time skip

I came out of the bathroom wearing a pink shirt, bright blue jeans and a jacket. A light one since it was pretty warm outside, but there's a bit a of breeze that was rather chilly, so I saw it fit. I went into my room and put on my shoes. Then I did some eyeshadow and lipstick, cause I felt like being pretty for awhile. Then I put on several pieces of jewelry and a flower crown, grabbing my phone off of it's charger.

I came down the stairs with a smile. "I'm ready, Gowther." I said. He was down by the door, waiting for me. He smiled at me and did two thumbs up. I noticed the sunlight glint off of something gold on his fingers. It was a three fingered ring on his right hand. He must've seen me looking, for he answered the question I hadn't uttered.

"Meliodas gave this to me as a gift. He was able to afford to get it for me. We all have something that represents us. I've got a goat, Meliodas has a dragon, and so forth." Gowther said. He had a weird glint in his eyes that told me there was more to this topic than what he'd told me, but I decided to not question further.

"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go!" I said with a bright smile. Gowther smiled back and opened the door for me. And with that, we left to go meet up with everyone.
