Her blue eyes slowly fluttered opened. Today was a new day, a fresh start, but more importantly, the 5 year anniversary of when Lance Corporal Levi had saved Alice. And she knew that she had to repay him somehow.
A new mop? Duster?
Crap-- he had it all. She sat up from her bed and pondered for a moment. "What should I do?"
Then she snapped. She never had the chance to properly thank Lance Corporal Levi.
Alice slapped herself in the face. 'God, I am so damn stupid. HOW COULD I NOT THANK THE MAN.'
Alice got herself ready, slipping on her jacket and boots and carefully putting her belts and brown sash on.
She fixed the belts and finished. Afterwards she walked out of her room and into the hallway.
As she made her way down the hallway she could feel butterflies swarming in her stomach. Once she reached his office, she tried to relax herself. Alice could feel sweat starting to erupt from her pores. After a moment of reassurence, she finally had the courage to knock on the door. Immediately, a stern voice called out, "State your name and buisiness."
"..Um, Alice, I have something to tell you.." After a few seconds, footsteps were heard, and they were growing louder by the second. She gulped. She could feel her palms start to sweat. She could feel nervousness and regret fill her stomach.
The door opened to reveal the Corporal. His icy, cold, grey eyes stared back at her intensely. He stepped aside, saying, "Come in."
Alice just stood still, completely unsure what to do. She wondered why she hadn't just walked in, instead, she remained there, standing. If it wasn't for this feeling in her stomach, she would've just waltzed right in there.
"What are you doing just standing there, moron? I told you to come in." He furrowed his brows.
"Oh, um yeah."
Alice walked in. As she did she noticed how short he was. Although he was about an inch shorter, he was still pretty short for someone as grown as him.
Oh, great walls, he is short.
Levi closed the door and returned to his seat, grabbing ahold of his coffee. He cleared his throat before saying,"Now what is it that you wanted to tell me?"
I can't believe that I never noticed how short he was.
"What was that, cadet?"
Alice immediately covered her mouth. She was too lost in her thinking that she didn't realize that she had said that outloud. She could feel her cheeks grow warm.
" I-I didn't say anything, s-sir."
"Don't play dumb with me. For your information, I am not that short, and two, you should keep in control of your thoughts so maybe you wouldn't say it aloud." Alice could already see the vein popping out of his temple.
He glanced at his coffee and took a sip of it. Once done ,he placed it down and spoke. "Now what is it that you wanted to tell me? Oh, and make sure you don't say anything anyone wouldn't want to hear."
Alice fiddled with her fingers. She felt like an idiot. She didn't even think about what she was going to say before coming to his office.
"That I..I wanted to, um.." Alice could not believe how childish and strange she sounded.
"That you wanted to what? I don't have all day here and I have papers to file and sign."
Alice sighed and mustered up her courage. "I wanted to thank you for saving me when the titans attacked Wall Maria."
Levi gawked at her. The room suddenly became quiet. Alice didn't know what to do, so she just stared at him, waiting for a reply.
The silence faded as soon as Levi took another sip of his coffee.
"Well kid, you're 5 years late."

Okay, I want to start off by apologizing to you guys because there were a couple of reasons that I could not update. One, I wasn't able to sign onto my account because I had forgotten my password and email of the account.
Once I found it, I still wasn't able to update because school had taken over. And this year of school was very important because this year, I would be graduating and my grades were super important. But there was one pro of this. My writing improved. Since I majored in ELA (English Language Arts) and overall, it was my favorite subject, my teacher gave us a lot of writing assignments, therefore, my writing improved.
Well since it's summer, I have tons of time to write and to update. Well, enough of my ongoing ramble, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
