Blondie // newtmas au (abandoned)

Newt's breath hitched, and his heart was pounding. "D-do I what?" He stuttered out, his face looking like a tomato.

Thomas looked at the boy, "Im just asking, you seem to be kinda fond of me" he said while pausing the episode.

Newt looked at the screen, grabbing the remote, "You r-really didn't need to pause it" he said with a nervous laugh, un-pausing it.

Thomas rolled his eyes, "You're avoiding the question Blondie"

Newt sighed, turning to him, "i-i d-" but before Newt could finish, they were interrupted by a Minho.

"Newt what are you doing? We gotta get to class" Minho said, gesturing to the door.

Newt quickly got up, grabbing his stuff for class, "Yes, you're right Minho, lets go"

Thomas stood up, "but Newt-"

"Im actually feeling a whole lot better Thomas, thank you" Newt said before quickly walking out the door with Minho, relieved that he was able to avoid the question.

Once they got to their classes, they quickly sat down, relieved that the teacher wasn't there yet so they wouldn't get a detention. Thomas walked in a few minutes later, Newt sighed once he saw him, "shit".

Minho looked at Newt, "what?"

"Im kinda avoiding Thomas right now, and I forgot that we have all classes together" he groaned, looking over at Thomas, Thomas looking back. "Yeah, he's mad at me"

"Why are you avoiding him?" Minho asked, looking at Thomas then back at Newt.

"He asked if I liked him"

"And? Do you?"

"Y-yeah, maybe a little" Newt stuttered out, blushing slightly. "But you can't tell him, promise?"

Minho nodded, "kinda weird he'd ask you, since he's straight an all"

Newt looked away, "yeah, I know" he said quietly.

The class consisted of boring lectures and watching CSI episodes, and awkward glances at Thomas. A few more classes went by, then it was lunchtime. The whole group decided to go out to a small café. Of course Newt had to sit across from Thomas, making the awkward tension unbearable.

Newt sighed, looking away then at Thomas, who was reading the menu. Thomas is never this quiet, so Newt can tell not getting an answer and the avoiding was bothering him. "Yes"

Thomas looked up from his menu, "yes what?" He asked, confused.

"Yes, Tommy, I like you"
