Chapter 3

"Walking, talking, Jesus! Where'd you get this?"Ariana asked in awe, taking it from his hands.

"Full on 45. Hawked it from my old man,"Chris explained. Ariana smiled and pretended to shoot at the garbage can across from them.

"Is it loaded?"She asked, closing one eye as if she were aiming.

"Hell no. Who do you think i am? Teddy?"Chris accused.

Ariana then clicked the 'bullet' in and pulled the trigger. Bang!

"Jesus!"They all shouted, seeing as a real bullet was lodged into the garbage can. They heard heels heading towards the back door to the Diner, so they all took off in a sprint. Ariana was in front, then Gordie, then Chris. Gordie and Chris were both laughing their asses off.

"Ariana did it! Ariana Merrill is shooting up Castle Rock!!"Chris joked loudly.

"Shut up!"Ariana yelled at Chris, still far ahead of them. Once they got around the corner to the front of the Diner, they slowed to a walk, but Ariana stayed with her angry fast walk.

"Damn, you shoulda seen your face! Priceless!"Chris laughed.

"Too cool, man,"Gordie said.

"You knew it was loaded, you wet end! That waitress saw me! That was the worst trick ever, Chris!"Ariana argued, storming off from the two boys. Chris then stopped laughing and ran up in front of her, making her bump into him.

"Ariana, i didn't know it was loaded. Honest,"Chris sighed, his hands on her shoulders.

"You swear?"She asked.

He nodded. "Yeah, i swear."

"On your mothers name?"Ariana added.

He nodded. "Yeah."

"Even if she goes to hell cause you lied,"She added, to prove her point.

He nodded, "Yeah, i swear."

Ariana then stuck up her pinky. "Pinky swear?"

Chris crossed his pinky across his heart, kissed it, then wrapped it around hers. "Pinky swear."

Ariana looked down to the ground, then turned. Chris wrapped his arm around her shoulder and walked next to her, Gordie a little behind them. Just then Eyeball Chambers and Ace Merrill stepped around the corner, Ace grabbing Ariana's arm as they passed by.

"Ace, let go!"Ariana squirmed, trying to pull from him.

"No hon, your coming home with me. Ace needs his fun now,"Ace smirked, pulling on her arm again.

"Ace! Ow, let go! Stop!"Ariana squinted in pain as he tugged harder.

"Ace, let her go!"Chris shouted. Ace then pushed her forward into Chris, making him step back, but not fall. He gripped Ariana around the waist protectively as she turned her head over her shoulder to Ace.

"Your a real asshole, you know that?"Chris dragged out, his voice low, anger showing through his blue eyes.

"Your brother's not very polite, Eyeball,"Ace said, stepping closer to them. 

"Now Christopher. I know you didn't mean to insult my friend,"Eyeball said slowly, smirking. Ariana watched as her older brother inched closer to them by seconds.

"I know he didn't mean to insult me. That's why I'm gonna give him the opportunity of taking it back,"Ace smirked. Chris gently moved Ariana to the side, knowing that Ace was about to do something. And he was right. Ace reached forward, grabbed Chris by the back of his head, then slammed him onto the ground.
