" Artemis why are we going to the park?' Lucy questioned as we headed down the path to the park "because I'm going to meet a friend there and then we're going to all play on the play ground together and you might make some new friends' I say as we reach the park gates.

I saw Dave sitting on a park bench next to the play ground "hey strider' I yell out as he looks up and sees me "hey' he says as we reach the bench "lullaby bird who's this?' Lucy days pointing at Dave "hey Lucy my names Dave it's wonderful to meet you, I'm good friends with Artemis' Dave said bent down to Lucy's height giving her a high five, that's cute he's good with kids " arty can I go play on the playground?' Lucy quickly says before I nod as she sprints to the playground.

"lullaby bird?' Dave says with a smirk "it's a nickname, don't bag it out' I say crossing my arms, pouting " hey, I think it's cute' Dave says with a chuckle 'so how did you end up coming to live in this shitty town anyway?' Dave said turning to face me. That's when memory's started to flood my mind, ones that I try to forget.

I start to cringe as I thought about my life before I met Angie and Lucy, how my past was starting to come back to haunt me " hey Artemis are you ok?' I snapped out of my thoughts " um, yea, sorry I just blanked out for a moment' I say quickly rubbing the back of my neck. Dave and I continued to talk for a while until I notice something.

A man in a black suit with an ear piece and shades was talking to Lucy.

I quickly ran over to where they were standing,I quickly pushed Lucy behind me "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!?' I practically scream in his face, Dave quickly joined me and stood next to me with his arms crossed " I was just simple asking some questions Artemis ' the man said smirking as he walked off.

Shit, this is not good really not good, they know who I am "Artemis who was that?' I hear Lucy squeak out from behind me "no one don't worry, did he hurt you?' I say getting eye level to the toddler, she shook her head, I let out a sigh of relief.

We decided to head back to the house due to the guy in black " Artemis who was that guy back there' dave asked me as we walked back watching lucy in front of us skipping " he was a bad person ' I say with a sigh " arty I know you hiding something from me and I know your probing hiding it from everybody but no matter what happens remember that im here for you from one freak to another were together in this " dave said staring into my eyes " dave I...." I was interupted by a blood culturing scream " ARTEMIS!!!! HELP!!!!" I hear lucy scream "LUCY!!" I yell out running towards an alley where the scream had came from.

I run into the ally and see several men in black hoodies, one of them holding lucy

By her neck " get the hell away from her!!' I screamed running at the guy holding lucy.

I quickly swiped his feet from under him , causing him to fall on his back, I pushed lucy behind me and kick the guy in the temple hard enough to knock him out, heard someone run at me from the side, so I quickly flip over him and hit him in the back of the head knocking him out.

The rest of the guys quickly run out of the alley before I have a chance to knock them out, I turn around to see dave holding lucy " lucy, are you ok?' I say running over and hugging her, she nods rubbing her eyes "come on sweety lets go home" I say picking her up and heading of home with Dave walking close beside me.
