Chapter 2

  The girl led me to the back entrance to Spicy Village. I stopped dead in my tracks. I walked by this place all the time. I never brothered to go inside, I tend to stick to food carts. I didn't plan on changing that fact by breaking and entering. No thanks, I didn't feel on going to jail today.

   The girl undid the lock and turned to me." Are you coming?", she gave me an irritated look.

   I shook my head," I don't want to end up in jail. It's bad enough I live on the streets, I don't need a criminal record as well."

  The girl sighed, "look I know your confused, but we need to go in here for things to be explained for you properly."

  I looked at her," if you were craving chinese food I'm pretty sure they'd be glad to serve us if we went through the front. Other wise, I believe the cops will be notified of our presense and we would go away for a long time."

  The girl let go of the door and walked towards me, she stopped a few inches away from me and grabbed my head.

  "My name is Jessica Jones. I have lived here my whole life. I am one of the select few who can see the creatures that surround us. This guy discovered this and brought me here, he then explained to me i had two choices, 1) I could walk away and never look back and keep pretending I was normal. Or 2)," she exhaled. "I could live in the true world and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Which option sounds better to you?"

   Jessica released my face and backed away. I stared at her, wondering about her story. I exhaled a shaky breath and made my choice. I slowly walked towards her and the door. She nodded her head in approval and muttered, "that's what I thought." She opened the door and gestered for me to walk inside. I walked past her and stepped inside. There were two doors, one that led to the kitchen, the other led down into what would appear to be the sewers.

  Jessica reached to open the sewer door. She saw my confused look and said these reassuring words," don't worry, normal people don't know this is here." She walked through and descended down the stairs. Already made my decision, I quickly rushed after her.
