We, as wolves living in a community that's is only occupied by other wolves, are taught in school about the transition we will make once were ready. I, displaying. No other talents or ambitions, was put into the warrior class, the class that would grow the next generation of the pack's army once we were trained in our wolf form.
“Rachel,” called out the prof. Talin, “Please, do tell me the clan hierarchy in order from least powerful to most powerful.” I had stopped short, not listening to the context of the surprise question. “Uh, the clans, well there are five spread across the country, the weakest being boar clan, Ape clan, then theres crow, and then our wolf clan, and finally there's the lion clan.” I finished, not bothering to check if I was right or wrong with the teacher, the question itself was insult. I was the only one he would think wouldn’t know the shifter’s history. He was the one who told us that the first time you change your body will shut down to spare you feeling the immense agony your body would go through when your beast will first allow itself to come into the physical world and serve you. I kept waiting for my vision to fade completely but hard as I tried Alpha Jack's face was still staring back at me, horrified. Why was he so scared? Ah. It was the screaming. Some one's blood curling screams who breaking through the air, it was making children cry. I was the one making children scream. It was their parents fault anyway, who would bring their children to an occasion like this? To watch me be banished? Eventually the screams turned into a monstrous roar, and even that turned into small whimpers. The pain had subsided for several minutes before I had realized that I could stand. I skidded my hind legs up and stabilized myself on all fours. I was in my beast form, and I was liberated. I snarled at alpha tom, reveling in the fear that glazed over his eyes. Was I that frightening? That intimidating? I felt my muscles coil and I stretched my claws. It would be a mercy killing, snapping his neck, finally opening his eyes and showing him exactly how powerless he truly was.
“My god, that wolf, i-it’s huge!” My head snapped over to the voice, upon seeing the face of Alpha Jack’s mate I snarled. She’s just as weak I crouched down, ready to pounce and bite her head off.
“Laura!” Alpha Jack’s scream turned into a roar just before his wolf came at me from the side. I sidestepped, turning around to see his chocolate brown wolf snap his ferocious teeth at me. I had my own teeth however and intended to use them. I lunged first, running so quickly towards him that I lost all concept of my surroundings. I teeth found his lefts shoulder and I revelled in the feeling of his flesh ripping away in my mouth. I jumped over him and turned, howling in victory as I watched him fall to his side and the crowd of my former pack converge on us. The tell tale snarls of other warriors shifting was clear and my instincts told me to run. I jumped over the screams and the growling and ran for the edge of the valley. I was not running away from my home, that place was never my home. They are runts, I am a queen. The rage that filled my belly was burning bright, clouding my judgment. I no longer felt completely in control of my movements, I felt myself being pulled away from from the situation, becoming a spectator in my own body. What is this I continued to feel myself drift, my eyes widening in horror as I watched myself, helplessly, rip through the crowds. help I yelled at no one, trying to break from the haze that was encasing me in darkness.
You are not ready to take on this body pup, sleep while I take care of the mess that you’ve made. I tried to look around but my gaze was greeted with nothing but darkness, I couldn’t even tell if I was still running or not.
Who are you? Tell me what is happening to me.
The runt does not even know what it feels like to speak to their wolf. Well listen now girl or I will condemn myself to sleep forever rather than be hosted by one as beaten down as you. Become worthy of my power and you will receive it.
This was what it was like to have a wolf? It felt like everything else in my life. I am just not even enough for my own wolf...
Charles
My breath was shallow and quick as I ran down after my baby sister. She was going insane, running rampant through the village. I watched as her giant magnificent wolf threw a fully fledged warrior off of her as if swatting a fly. Her coat was a midnight black that shined in the dusk sun light with frosted lines encircling her eyes. Her eyes. Usuall a wolf, like every other shifting being, would carry the eye color of their human host but these eyes shined a bright golden yellow that tour at your soul in the most terrifying of ways. I stopped running, finally realizing that if I reached her, I would have to fight her. And damn was she huge. Only an alpha would rival her in battle, I was sure of it. After tossing our delta into the house of a pack mate, my now ex half sister made a b-line for the trees, running faster than I had ever thought possible by her.
“That just isn’t natural.” I turned my head, seeing Alpha Jack standing next to me with his arms crossed behind his back. Immediately felt the overpowering aura emanating off of him, surely he must be the most powerful of the four alphas in our clan.
“Sir?” I asked, watching as he glared at the tail end of my sister.
“That rogue..I could have killed her easily when she was on the ground but something made me stop. Something that I’ve never felt before. She’s not a normal wolf Charles, and I think I know what she is. Follow me.” I nodded automatically, knowing that my face must be the image of confusion.
“Yes Sir.”
