Chapter 1: 1 week later and still nothing
1 week later…
A strange dream, floating faces and weird stuff that change into weird colors, the feeling of falling down a windy deep tunnel, a disembodied voice telling me something and then a feeling, a real physical feeling, of being sandwiched between two warm pieces of meat. That finally woke me up.
Though I kept my eyes closed, my newfound abilities helped me visualize the room and my immediate surroundings as though I have a pair of eyes in every corner, every crack in the wall, behind every book in the bookcase or, specifically, just replace those pair of eyes with a clone body. I swept my “eyes” across the room and finally found me lying in bed, and beside me are the two sleeping figures of-
No, I can’t be seeing that right, shit; but there was no mistaking those red and blonde hairs, the slim figures. They seem to be oddly at peace even at their current state, naked as they was, and very asleep. I opened my real eyes and, very slowly and very carefully, dislodged myself from the two sleeping figures on either side of me. I looked at my bedside table to see that my alarm clock had been disabled-literally; they seem to have taken a hammer or a baseball bat and methodically used it to smash my clock to pieces while I was sleeping, keeping the whole operation somehow quiet while I was sleeping and then proceeded to do, er, whatever it is they did to me. I got out of bed, feeling relieved to see that my clothes are more or less intact. I looked back at my bed and feeling a sort of obligation as their big brother, I covered them from the neck down with a blanket. I then walked outside and then to the empty kitchen, mother must still be asleep and promptly busied myself by making dinner. A few minutes later, by which time I’m already setting the table for breakfast (fried eggs, toast and bacon), I heard the expectant “WHAAAAAATTT!!!??”, then a series of angry outbursts that might have been an argument or something, I sighed and looked up at the ceiling while the argument continued above me. Another few minutes passed and mother came through the door, still sleepy and greeted me with a faint “Good morning.” followed by the twins who were fully dressed now and sporting grumpy expressions. We all sat down and ate in silence.
The doorbell rang. The twins immediately stood up, “We’ll answer it!” they both piped up and rushed towards the door. I waited for the exaggerated “WHAAATT??” but instead a sort of quiet timidity from the twins as whoever it was spoke to them a question I can’t hear properly then a “Uh, yeah he’s here, this way.” This one came from Lin and I heard the footsteps coming closer, “Big brother, this girl says she is looking for you.” I turned around in my seat and found a blue eyed girl with silver hair, a bit older than me by about two years and probably also taller than me. “James David Williams? I need a private word with you, is there a place where we can talk without disturbance?” her voice sounded soft and reassuring but there is something hidden behind it that I can’t quite place, a menacing sort of tone, like a hidden track in a movie that only observant people can hear. I considered a moment, tried to weigh my options if this stranger suddenly tries to attack me or something. Finally, I nodded and said, “Sure in the uh, backyard, here come with me.” I led her to the back door which opened up on the wide backyard outside; I stood aside and let her take the lead then followed her. She had her back to me when I came out as she seems to be admiring the orchids and trees that grew around here. “So,” I began “what is your name and what is it that you wanted to say t-“ I did not get to finish my sentence as I saw movement at her right hand, I looked down and saw it twitch before something long and blood red came out of her sleeve, something with a sharp edge and a long handle. Her hands wrapped around the handle and she suddenly disappeared. I looked wildly around, trying to find her. My mind screamed for me to look up and I did, seeing a figure up there, right hand raised, the blade coming down towards my head.
