The sun has poured through the curtains. I blinked trying to get sleep away from my eyes.
When I was fully up in the early hours of the morning, I turned to my side to find Athena peacefully asleep in my arms. I smiled at how beautiful she looked, and how I wished I could wake up to this sight every morning. But that may never happen for she wouldn't return the feelings. I also remembered that she had been through hell yesterday so thinking about this may not be wise. And yet as I recalled yesterday's events I noticed Athena is right. Not for one minute did I believe the other gods and when I saw Aphrodite on the beach I noticed she had no bruises, and in some ways I was still pissed that she even decided to frame Athena and show her face like that. Especially after what happened a month ago.
I sighed and looked at Athena. I knew I needed to swim but for some reason I couldn't be bothered to move.
Athena stirred and rolled over, giving me the chance to swim. I sighed again as my body started to protest not being in my element. I knew there was no point trying to go back to sleep so, I climbed out of bed in search for my swimming trunks.
Man I need to clear my head. The problems is we still need supporters to help me prove her innocence.
Once I found them I changed bringing a towel with me and headed to the pool.
Once there I dived in and began laps of the pool. Thankful that I was in my element and that I wasn't itching.
I don't know how long I had been in the pool doing laps until I saw Athena. She smiled as I swam towards her. I smiled back, never once taking my eyes off how beautiful she looked when she was near the water. "You found me?"
It was meant to be a statement but it turned out to be a question.
"It wasn't hard." she replied. I smiled again. "How long have you been awake?" I asked as she yawned.
"A few minutes" she replied as she took her dressing gown off and dived into the pool. Her hair immediately reacted like a mermaid does when threatened. She came up and spat water out of her mouth. I laughed at the fact that she had water in her mouth. Unfortunately for me, she just spat the rest of the water in my face.
I pouted and she laughed."Not cool" I said, in response she stuck her tongue out.
I heard the laughs of old ladies who were supervising their grandkids.
I looked at them and I heard whisper "there so cute together" I rolled my eyes, in annoyance, I hate it when grandparents do that.
I turned to Athena but found her underneath the surface.
I swam down and created an air bubble "what's wrong?" I asked.I hated her like this, and in some ways I wish they never did this.
She sighed.
"I'm scared I mean what happens if they find us?" she spoke as the fear laced her voice as well as her face. I swam forwards and grabbed her face "don't worry about it, I will protect you, I promise" I said.
Yep I hate seeing her like this.
She leaned her face into my hand "don't make promises you can't keep." she spoke as she closed her eyes.
"I will still protect you" I said stubbornly. She smiled and opened her eyes. I looked upwards and saw life guards coming, I looked at Athena and we swam to the top.
Once there I saw people looking at us weird. The lifeguards looked pissed that we waisted their time but in all honesty I couldn't care less.
I also think they came to get us as we spent two minutes under the water with out coming up to breath.Athena looked down in shame but I lifted her head, completely ignoring the people around us.
"You know I will always protect you from them" I spoke. She shook her head no, clearly persistent on changing my mind.
