Angel POV-

I glared at Dani as she curled up on the foot of my bed, an innocent smile forming on her perfect, freckled face. I said,

"Dani? Where are you taking me for our date?"

She smiled and replied,

"Oh nowhere, I just signed us up for boating."

I buried my face in my pillow and sighed. I muttered,

"Dan you know I hate water."

She giggled and said,

"How can you hate water? It keeps you alive."

I playfully kicked her and sighed,

"Very funny."

She kissed my forehead and giggled,

"Just put on your bathing suit. I'll be waiting.

I rolled my eyes. She was lucky she was cute. I put on my sky blue bathing suit and threw a flannel over it. I ran my fingers through my messy hair, not bothering to brush it.

I threw on a pair of flip flops and jogged outside to where Dani's truck was parked. She grinned at me from the driver's seat and motioned for me to sit in the passenger seat. I groaned. I loved Dani to pieces, but she was the most reckless driver in the world.

I fastened my seatbelt and braced myself for the bumpy ride. Dani stuck her tongue out at me and pulled out of the driveway.

My palms started to sweat as we got closer and closer to the lake. I hated water. With a burning passion. But Dani liked adventure, so I went along with it.

We reached the lake, where an old man was smiling. We got out of the car and he greeted us,

"Reservation for Dani?"

Dani smiled and said,

"That's me!"

The old man laughed at her enthusiasm and explained the rules of boating. I listened carefully, knowing that Dani wasn't listening and that I would end up working the boat. I wiped my palms on my legs. The sight of the water was making me slightly dizzy, and the man's words blurred together.

He finally finished his explanation, and Dani jumped onto the boat. I gingerly stepped in, flinching whenever even a drop of water touched my leg.

I started the boat, a wave of sickness overcoming me every time I even looked at the never-ending mass of water.

I winced as I felt a rain drop land on my face. I looked up, noticing the stormy grey clouds. My eyes widened in horror as I realized it was raining. Hard.

My stomach flip-flopped. There we were, the two of us, stranded in a lake while the rain poured down, each drop more violent than the last.

Dani's face paled even more than usual as she whispered,

"Crapcrapcrapcrap."

I gripped the railing as the boat started to violently rock. The rain made my glasses foggy, and the sky was so dark I could barely make out Dani's features.

My insides shook in fear as the rain grew heavier. Water from the lake splashed into the boat, and my heart rate quickened as I imagined myself drowning. My head pounded with fear and blood rushed into my brain.
I screamed,

"STOP!"

And everything calmed.

Nikki's POV

I sat in my first-period history class' desk. Oh, how I would do anything to be home right now. After everything that has been going on with most of the girls I think we all need a well-deserved break, but of course, our parents believe differently leaving me here in Mrs. Jones first period global history 2 class learning about the Russian revolution. The last few minutes displayed themselves on the clock while my teacher's lesson was nothing but a quiet hum in the back of my head. Finally, the highly anticipated bell rang releasing me and twenty other kids from the history hell hole and to our next miserable class. For some reason, today was extra depressing, for starters, Angelica had fought with our parents to make us stay home claiming she had a bad feeling about today and surprisingly we all here to spite the fact that if Angelica has a bad feeling she's always right. Now to add on to that anxious feeling I had biology second period and today we had our very own state graded lab....joy.
