(Parker's POV)
Eighth period history class on a Friday afternoon. No one is in the mood for our daily political cartoon. No one wants to be here. Everyone is staring at the clock, just waiting, praying for the final bell to ring. Mr. Beck stands in front of us, his dirty blond hair a ruffled mess, clothes wrinkled to high hell, trying to draw out answers that have long since been buried by the the plans of the weekend. Mr. Beck sighs and places a video on the screen. He shuts off the lights and shuts the door.
"Pay attention." He threatens us with a quiz that we all know he's too lazy to print out. 3:09PM, 3:10PM, 3:12PM. Time slips by at a snails pace. 3:14PM, a scream, followed by a loud crash echoes through the halls. Every head in the room snaps from the projector screen to the door. Our teacher pauses the film and comes around his desk to the door. The screaming continues, at first far away, right outside the door moments later. Hesitantly our teacher opens the door. A girl, covered head to toe in blood with pieces of skin the size of bite-marks torn from her flesh, fell into his arms. The girl fell silent and shortly after limp.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Close the door and shut the blinds!" Our teacher instructed seeming calm, but his voice cracked with fear. He moved the girl to the front of the room and covered her with his coat. A student closed the door and someone else shut the blinds. The intercom kicked on, seeming extremely loud in the dead silence of the classroom.
"Stay in your rooms! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT leave your room! We don't know what's happening, but we-" The ladies words turned into screams of fear and seconds later, pain. Everyone in the room visibly cringed as sounds of tearing flesh filtered out of the intercom. Our teacher began barricading the door with desks.
"What's going on?" Had to be the most asked question in the room. I was silent. I stood in the back corner of the room, arms crossed, eyes barely open. The smell of blood hung thick in the air, only to the trained nose. The nose of a predator, a hunter, a blood sucking demon; a vampire as we've been labelled. I could sense blood filling rooms all over the school. What was causing this? I couldn't tell you. Of course I had a few ideas. Rogue vampires, those who rebel against traditional vampiric laws and slaughter massive groups of humans; or humans who have gone mad and started killing and eating one another. Sadly my second prediction was correct. The heart rates of everyone (besides me) in the room skyrocketed.
The dead girl, lying underneath Mr. Beck's coat, was standing at the front of the room. His coat fell to the floor, revealing milky white eyes, almost as if the pupil and iris had completely disappeared. Her face was emotionless; she stared into the scared, but silent group of teenagers. Our teacher stupidly rushed to the girls side and checked her over.
"Are you alright?" The girl's face contorted in rage and a loud growl escaped her throat. He tried to pull away, but her hands latched onto his shoulders and she sunk her teeth into his throat. His blood ran down the front of his shirt in a stream, he must have been too shocked to scream because his face was blank and he was silent; I found this very interesting. He reacted as if he was in ecstasy, like most humans would react to a vampire bite. The room erupted in screams, as the girl who was presumed to be dead, continued ripping the flesh from our teachers corpse.
I pushed off the back wall of the classroom. The sudden movement shifted all eyes to me. I easily broke a leg off one of the overturned desks, brandishing it as a weapon. My foot connected with the girls head, sending her sailing into the projector screen. Seemingly unphased, she darted after me. In one swift movement I raised the desk leg impaling her through the forehead. Her movement ceased almost instantly. I removed the makeshift spear from the dead girl's skull and put it through the skull of my former teacher.
