I feel like a bird,
Captured in a cage,
Fed and cared all day,
But can never fly.
I feel like a fish,
Caught in a sturdy net,
Let live on a tank,
But can never swim.
I feel like a dog,
Leashed and trained,
Sit, roll-over, play dead,
But can never bark.
I feel like a hamster,
Put in a fish bowl,
Run and run on a wheel,
But can never really run.
I feel like a rat,
Always as the test subject,
Drink this, eat this,
But can never roam.
I feel like the air,
Blewn onto a plastic,
Tied on a stick,
But can never float.
I feel like a chicken,
Raised in a coop,
Fed, watered, and with wings,
But can never use it.
I feel like caged,
I feel like captured,
I feel like leashed,
But this is the way I am raised.
