Moe's head injury vs Germany in the World Cup and scaring her moms.
Morning of Game vs Semi Final: Germany Game
It was a June morning and Lauren Cheney and Amy Rodriquez were getting up and ready for breakfast and morning meeting when they went down they found they weren't the first ones like usual. The goalies were there already and drinking coffee, reading, crossword puzzles and other things so they waved and said morning and sat down with their own food and coffee. A little while later the team strolled in a couple at a time and Morgan Brian their "daughter" walked in and said "Morning moms." They replied "morning Moe." She got her own breakfast and ate next to them and smiled softly at them and then after she got done she started talking to her best friend on he team Julie Johnston about the game.
The startling 11 was released and nobody was in shock by it.
*later on the bus*
Moe was sitting with Meghan Klingeneberg on the bus and they were getting into game mode. Well the whole team was.
She was nervous but also calm. She was ready to face Germany. She knew they could pull out the win. She just hoped nothing bad happened.
*locker room*
Lauren smiled at her number 12 jersey as she put it on and smiled at Alex and then at Moe who was wearing her number 14 jersey. She went and hugged and kissed her wife. It was good luck kiss for the both of them.
*game time*
The game kept going and going and suddenly a free kick for Germany happened and then the unexpected happened.
Moe was going up to defend the free kick and knocked heads with Alexandra Popp and fell to the ground onto her face.
Hope and Ali and JJ and Kling and Becky and Carli were right by her side when the whistle blew and the trainers ran over and began talking to Moe. Cheney glanced at her wife quickly and then to her daughter and tried to get to her side and Moe was on her back talking to them and moving. She was a little dazed from the hit but was okay. Cheney then got told to tell Jill about Moe being okay and saw her wife warming up and motioned that Moe was okay.
Moe was fine and didn't need to be taken out.
*after the game*
The woman walked into the locker room except Moe, Moe went straight to the trainers to be checked along with Hope who's knee and shoulder were aching her.
Everyone was happy for the win and for Kelley's first international goal.
Cheney and Amy found their daughter getting her head checked and just smiled at her as she was okay she was doing great.
She went to her moms and latched onto Cheney saying "mama I'm tired" Cheney laughed and said "I bet baby girl why don't you get showered and changed and let mama carry you okay. Is that okay?" Moe nodded and got showered and in her sweats and t-shirt. She went to Cheney and latched on to her jacket and Arod giggled and grabbed her wife's bag, her own bag, and Moe's and Lauren carried Moe to the bus and rocked her as the midfielder slowly fell asleep in her lap against her neck. Jill got on last after doing some interviews and saw everyone laughing and talking happily but quietly and asked Dawn "why isn't it loud why is it quiet?" Dawn replied "Moe just fell asleep and the team wanted to be quiet for Moe." Jill smiled at the team's kindness and they headed to the hotel.
When they got back to the hotel, the team got off to cheers and Moe woke up but heard Cheney's voice saying "it's okay Moe go back to sleep you can see you parents and sister and then eat and go to sleep." Moe nodded and hid her face and Cheney walked her daughter in with her wife and they found the Brian family and Moe's mom fussed over her daughter running her fingers through her youngest hair and smiled at Cheney and Arod saying "thank you for taking care of her." Moe mumbled and everyone went to eat and then headed up to bed.
Cheney and Arod tucked Moe in and gently kissed her head and went to bed and cuddled.
Arod whispered "babe are you awake" Cheney replied "yeah but I'm tired" Arod replied "I was scared for Moe." Cheney said "same when I heard ali say Moe had gone down and saw her laying there I thought she was hurt" Arod replied "same." They fell asleep cuddled in each other's arms happy that their daughter was okay.
