"But when you gonna know it's time to let go?
'Cause I think I'm about to lose my mind ..."
~ Competition; Little Mix
It was 7:45 P.M. Almost time.
Liam looks down at his phone, discreetly. He quickly whips it away when Zayn asks him, "Why do you keep looking at your phone, Li?" Liam's cheeks turn red, and he squirms, "Uhm, just checking the time, babe."
"Why?" Zayn turns his body to face his boyfriend properly, paying no mind to the movie that's playing on the T.V, "Are you...Are you bored?" he asks, "I know, I've got no party or whatever..."
The two boys were cuddled up in Liam's bed, watching the new Avengers movie. Although it was his 18th birthday, Zayn wasn't keen on doing something extravagant, like going out or getting drunk. Just like he has been doing all these years.
Liam leans forward to kiss him gently, taking his time in pulling away. "It's not that, babe." he assures, still racking his brain to come up with an excuse, "I just- don't want you to go home too late, ya know."
He knows it's lame, with it being only close to seven, and Zayn doesn't believe him but he had to get something out, so that the raven haired boy wouldn't be suspicious.
"Okay?" Zayn said, doubtfully, "It's still early though." Liam nods in agreement and lets his boyfriend cuddle up to him once more and become engrossed in the movie.
Liam's phone 'pings' with the arrival of a text message, and he quickly opens it when he sees the sender's name.
From Tommo 7:50 P.M
All set. Bring him.
Liam smiles to himself, typing the best he could with just one hand while the other arm was wrapped around Zayn.
To Tommo 7:51 P.M
Great. See u soon
Liam then shifts in his seat, making Zayn complain quietly "What is it, Li?" Liam brushes Zayn's hair out of his eyes, and chuckles softly, "We have to go."
Zayn's eyebrows furrow in confusion, "Now?" he thought Liam wanted to drop him home this early, "But the movie isn't over yet." he frowns.
Liam gets up from the sofa, "I know, babe. We can finish it later." He pretends not to notice when his boyfriend's frown deepens as he stands up, not even Milo coming distracts him. "Li?" Zayn calls out as the brunet makes his way to the door.
"Yes, Zee?" he inquires back, putting on his jacket. "Can I take Milo home with me?" Zayn's head pops from behind the wall and Liam laughs, "Of course, darling. Now hurry up."
Hurry is what Zayn does, carrying a clueless puppy in his hands as he follows Liam into the car. Liam smiles at him, fondly, when Zayn gets in the car after he does, he could hear him softly talking to the puppy.
"We're gonna have so much fun, Milo." Zayn whispers to him, petting his golden coat.
Liam drives them to Zayn's house and when they reach, the black haired boy turns to look at Liam with a pout, "You sure you don't wanna come inside?" He wanted to spend the leftover hours of his birthday with his boyfriend, not alone in his room.
Liam shakes his head, trying not to smile and give himself away, "No, sorry, babe. Anne's expecting me home." Though still upset, Zayn nods and leans over to peck Liam softly, "Okay. Bye."
