As Riley Mccall parked her car at the front of Beacon Hills' preserve, she grinned.
"Yay!" The brunette exclaimed, "camping trip with my brother and our two best friends! Who's excited?"
"You clearly are." Maya Stilinski chuckled from the passenger seat. "You seemed afraid during the drive, why didn't you just let me or Lucas drive to the preserve?"
"Because, Maya, I just got this car and my license a week ago, this drive is my rite of passage to being a teenager." Maya opened her mouth to argue with her best friend, but Riley put her hand up, stopping her. "And before you argue Peaches, your rite of passage to being a teenager was last year when you dyed your hair blonde and didn't ask your parents."
Maya chuckled at that. "Yeah, dad was so mad for weeks, it was great. Now, how about we go and help the boys with bags, they sure look like they could use some help." The blonde said as she looked out the window to see her own brother struggling with carrying one of Riley's bags.
The best friends got out of the car and walked over to the boys.
"Oh Farkle," Maya laughed at her brother as he tried to grab another one of Riley's bags to carry, "I think you have enough bags already."
"Maya," the young boy whispered at his sister who was older than him by a year, "just let me do this for Riley, okay?"
Once the blonde realised why her brother was actually doing this, she snorted. "Oh come on Farkle," she whispered as Riley was helping Lucas get more bags out of the car, "do you really think that you carrying Riley's bags for her will make her realise that she's in love with you?"
Maya Penelope Stilinski was no stranger to her younger brother's 'small obsession' with her best friend. According to her mother, it must be a new Stilinski male tradition, since her father apparently used to be obsessed with the strawberry blonde she calls her mother until they actually became friends, and then it turned into actual love.
"All apart of the nine plan, my dear sister." Farkle said proceeding to lug off all of Riley's bags to the campsite further ahead of them. Wheeling her own wheely bag Maya whizzed past her brother and begun to settle into the campsite, leaving her brother to drag himself over under the pile of luggage; Riley happily skipping along behind him.
Riley was pulled out of her own little world when she heard a wolf howling. "Did you guys hear that? It sounded like a wolf." the brunette said to the group. "Riles, there are no wolves in California." Maya stated getting back to setting up the camp. I swear I heard one. She thought to herself, but she pushed the useless thought to the back of her mind and went to help Maya set up.
"Riley," Lucas started as he grabbed some of his sister's bags and Maya's bags, "did you really have to bring so many bags?"
"Because, my dear brother," the brunette starts as she starts walking backwards, not really caring about where she's going, "just like Aunt Lydia always says, camping should not be a reason to stop being fashionable."
"But Riles, it's camping not glamping." Maya commented. As much as the blonde loved her mother and loved being fashionable, she never really liked to make as big as a deal out of it as Riley always did.
"Peaches!" Riley exclaimed, astonished, but before she could say anything else, she bumps into something, and when she turns around, she sees.... a huge tree stump?
"Well this seems like a great place to camp for the night." Maya commented, and she grabbed one of her bags from Lucas and plopped it down on the ground.

By the time everyone had finished setting up the campsite, Maya had noticed that the sun had begun to set and she was getting tired. Voicing her thoughts she said "Maybe we should head to bed? After all it's dark and I'm getting pretty tired." The other agreed and they all headed off to bed.

Maya awoke to a rustle in the bushes and turned around to see her best friend was no longer beside her. Panicked she woke up and shouted into the trees. "Riley?! Riles can you hear me?!" Her shouting must have awoke the others as Lucas and Farkle ran out of their tents asking what had happened.
Maya, nearly in tears told them what happened. "I heard something rustle in the trees and I turned around to tell Riley and she was gone. I...I just don't know what to do." Just as she finished her sentence heard a roar. Without stopping to think she bolted in the direction of the roar desperate to save her best friend.
