Chapter 3

Kallie's POV:

When lunch time comes around Unity and I go to our lockers and grab our lunch bags. Once I finish grabbing it out of my locker, I close it and lock it back up. Unity takes hers out too and we walk down the hallway to the cafeteria. Once we enter my ears fill with loud talking from all the other grades that are in here eating as well. Seeing as there's no more table space I say, "I think were just going to have to sit on the floor." Unity nods. We walk over to the wall and sit there eating.

People we know from our classes walk by without looking at us and for though's who are looking at us, their laughing and making fun of us. I really don't know why they judge my sister and I because they have no clue what we go through everyday, "So, I heard Ron got sent home for four days because he beat up a grade nine." I blurt out.

"You are such a gossip." Unity says playfully nudging me with her shoulder, "but  ya, I really hate Ron, he thinks he's better than everyone else."

"I know. I'm glad he's gone. He deserves it!" I reply. As soon as lunch is over we get up and walk out of the crowded and loud room and go back to our lockers. We put our lunch bags into our lockers and grab our science and history books.

We walk to science and silently go through the classroom doors, "Good afternoon girls," Mr. White says. We nod and go to our seats in the front of the class, "Okay class, today you will be working in partner's.  But not the people you sit beside." My face paled as I looked over at Unity.

She frowned at me, "What do we do? It's not like I want to partner up with any of these losers!" She looks at me sadly.

"Neither do I."

"Fine, then I guess because we have so much complaining going on, I'll pick your partners for you." Mr. White says looking around the classroom. He starts to pair people up then he stops at Unity, "Unity and....Hm, let's see, How about Nick." Unity frowns and then picks her things up and walks over to him, "And Kallie you will be with... Julie." I sigh and search the room for the girl. I finally see her, she'a at the back of the room alone. She's wearing a grey sweater and black sweat pants, her curly brown hair is up in a pony tale. I pick up my things and make my way over to her. I sit down awkwardly beside her.

"Hey, I'm Kallie." I say looking at her.

"I'm Julie. Nice to meet you." Our eyes meet for a second then she goes back to looking at her textbook. I look away not knowing what to do, I search the room for Unity, she is standing over a guy's desk talking with her eyes narrowed. The guy seemed to brush off what ever she's saying and picked up his phone. Unity rolls her eyes and sits down beginning to work. I sigh and turn back to the girl.

"So, I think were on page 104 doing questions 1-3." I say beginning to write some answers down.

"Do you get this?" She asks. I shake my head.

"Nope. I'm just writing random questions down." We both laugh.

"So what's it like at you house?"

"Um.." I look for words.

"I mean 'cause I don't see my parents that often. So i'm stuck babysitting four year old twin boys!"

"Oh.." Is all that I can say, I mean if she thinks that's torcher she's wrong, "Well my mom isn't at home a lot due to her job and as for my dad... Well I don't get to see him so were not close."

"Oh. So it that your twin over there or something?" She asks pointing over at Unity. I nod.

"Yeah she is."
