Chapta 2

Katrina's POV

As quickly as I could I changed into a pair of black pants,white shirt,a black vest, and a black newsboy cap.I called for Race and he helped me back downstairs."I think we should get you to a docta" he chuckled."Emm I can't afford one"I mumbled and blushed."Ahh it's ok I know a doctor who's was a friend of me fatha's"He said."Ok"I blushed.He picked me up and we headed to a small building."Are ya sure ya don't want me to try to walk I mean I'm probably pretty heavy"I mumbled."Heavy?"He chuckled."You are about as heavy as a pape"He smiled sweetly.We arrived on a doorstep and he gently set me down.He knocked on the door and an older gentleman probably about 50 anwsered the door."Hello Race"He smiled."And who do we have here"He said gently smiling at me."She's a friend of mine can you help her?"Race awnsered for me."Sure..sure"He said opening up the door a little wider and Race helped me in and onto a couch.A couple seconds later the older man came in with a small medical bag.He examined my ribs and leg while making small talk.After a while he said "We'll your ribs are just a little bruised and your leg is broken."He knelt down and as gently as he could he pushed my bone back into place.I winced in pain and Race squeezed my hand gently.After he pushed it back into place he wrapped up my leg with bandage."Come back next week so I can look at it again."He said smiling."Ok"I smiled."Wait right here ill be right back"He said.He left the room and I turned to Race."Thanks"I said smiling."No problem..We can go back to the lodging house after"He smiled."Ok"I chuckled to myself."Um Willow..."Race began."Will you umm be my girlfriend."He asked shyly."Of course!"I replied and kissed his cheek.He blushed and smiled taking my hand.The man came back in with a crutch.He handed it too me"You might need this to walk"He chuckled."I'm sure Crutchy can help you learn how to walk with it.""Thank You Sooo much sir"I said shaking his hand while leaning on the crutch."Any Time"He replied.Race and I said goodbye and headed to the Lodging House."Do you want to go to Brooklyn when you legs better"He asked shyly."You mean like a date"I replied blushing.He nodded his head shyly."Sure"I smiled.We stepped into the lodging house where a huge group of guys were playing poker."Hiya boys"Race called.They all turned around"Who's the lovely lady Race?"A guy called."Shut up Romeo Ice here is my girlfriend.Shes going to be a Newsie."Racetrack replied protectively.A boy crutched up to me"Hi Ice I'm Crutchie"He smiled politely at me.By 9:00 pm I was walking with my crutch like a pro."Thanks Crutchie"I smiled."No problem"He replied.
