When we reach the bridge I stand next to Nyota. She takes my hand and gives me a reassuring squeeze. "Captain on the bridge." Sulu says. I know Pavel should be here. He should be the one announcing the captain. I am jerked out of my thoughts when Sulu says, "Three seconds sir." Kirk sits in the captain's chair. "Sheilds." he says. A massive ship stops before us. It is much larger than the Enterprise and is all black. I gulp, this ship is unmarked. It could be Marcus but if it wasn't then we were all good as dead. I wished Pavel was here.
"They're hailing us sir." Nyota says. "On screen. Broadcast ship wide for the record." Kirk says. I take a deep break as the transmission shows up on the screen. Admiral Marcus's face showed up on the screen. I sigh with relief, but now there is a new problem. If Khan wasn't lying then what will Marcus do to this ship? Kirk and Marcus talk back and forth. "I'm asking you, one last time son. Lower your shields. Tell me where he is." Marcus says. "He's in engineering sir, but I'll have him moved to the transporter room right away." Kirk says. Marcus ends the transmission.
"Do not drop those shields Mr. Sulu."Kirk orders. "Captain, knowing Khan's true location in the med bay may I know the details of your plan?" Spock asks. "I told Marcus we were bringing a fugitive back to Earth, that's what we're going to do. Mr. Chekov can we warp?" Kirk asks. "Sir, if ve go to warp ve run ze risk of seriously damaging ze core!" Pavel shouts. "Can we do it?" Kirk asks. "Technically yes but I vould not adwise it Keptin." Pavel says. "Noted." Kirk says. Sulu sets course for Earth and we warp towards it. Suddenly Carol Marcus runs onto the bridge. She speaks quietly with Jim about how Marcus will catch up to us.
"Captain, I'm getting a reading I don't understand." Sulu says. The ship lurches forwards and I almost slam into a large glass screen. I stand up shakily. Jim is yelling orders. Carol yells over him. "Captain, everybody n this ship is going to die if you don't let me speak to him!" Carol shouts. "Uhura, hail them." Jim says. She hails them immediately. "Sir. It's me, it's Carol." She says. Marcus's face appears on the screen. "What are you doing on that ship?" He asks. "I hear what you said. You made a mistake and now you're doing everything you can to fix it. But dad, i don't believe that the man who raised me is capable of destroying a ship full of innocent people. If I'm wrong about that then you're going to have to do it with me on board." She says.
"Actually Carol I won't" he says. Yellow lights from a transporter start to envelop Carol's body. "Carol!" I yell. I reach out to grab her arm but I'm too late. Marcus tells his crew to lock phasers. "Wait sir! My crew was just following my orders. I take full responsibility for my actions but they were mine and they were mine alone. If I transmit Khan's location to you now all that I ask is that you spare them. Please sir." Jim says. Marcus ignores him and end the transmission. Jim turns around and faces us. "I'm sorry." he says. I choke back a sob. Pavel should be here.
"Their weapons are powered down sir." I hear Sulu say. Then I hear Scotty's voice. "Enterprise. Can you hear me?"
"Scotty!" Jim exlaims.
"Guess what I found behind Jupiter!"
