Chapter 6

"Ashlyn. My lovely, Ashy," he advances towards me, with blazing eyes and his voice so fierce, like the one coming from the mountain top.

I try to step back but he tightens his grip on my wrist, and spuns me to his chest so firmly, that it makes me yelp.

"Running away, are we?" He whispers huskily in my ear. I could feel his lips spreading into a smirk, behind my ear.

My heart's pounding and I shriek shrilly. His hand clamped on my mouth. I try to put it away, but he pulls me by my coat.

"Who are you? What do you want?" I say while trying to hit him. I wish I could see his face. But, he's hiding his face behind a mask.

I try struggling to get away but end up tripping instead. I get pushed roughly back onto my feet.

"Poor Ashy," he grins. "Stop making those useless trials. Because, there's no escaping from me."

I hold myself together, get up at once and stand still, trying to understand what he says.

"You might escape today, then, I'll find you tomorrow. In fact, there's no running away from me."

He laughs hysterically.

"Please.. let me go," I say, unsure of the next thing which will happen to me.

"Let you go? I didn't expect that from you, my dear," he says, not knowing what to do, I stare at him, listening to those possessive words.

"I thought you'd be interested in me, if I tell you about Juliane."

"Mom?!" I freeze.

"Yes, my love.. Juliane..," he whispers lowly, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"What about Mom?" I ask with hesitation.

Does he really know about Mom?

Or it's just an act of seeking attention. I'm baffled.

Just her name, caused an hair-raising fear deep down my heart.

"Wh-What about her..?" I ask again, as he remains silent.

"What's the hurry, my dear? We can talk all the time we want," he says.

"What do you think? Just tell me. Finish it right here. Right now."

"What will you do knowing about the history of the dead corpse?" He's provoking me now.
