Melanie POV

Lucas and I did the dishes together. Result: we're both so wet. Like, all my clothes are wet. It's like I've jumped into a pool with everything on. "Lucas, see what you've done," I laugh. "Now it's easier to take it all off, babe," he whispers while pulling me closer. "You're in such a dirty mood today, Luke," I laugh again, "I'm not used to that." His smile fades away. "Yet," I add. The grin on his face appears again.  "Come, let's get changed, you can borrow a shirt and a football short of Eric." I take his hand and lead him to Eric's room. I take a shirt and a football short and give it to him. "The bathroom is the last door on your left. I'm going to take something comfy to wear myself and I'll come too." He takes the clothes and walks towards the door. "Don't wait too long, otherwise you'll miss my sixpack." He raises his eyebrows while saying this and walkes out of the room. I shake my head and walk to my room.

I open the door of the bathroom and see Lucas putting his shirt on. "Ready for a Netflix evening?" He nods and follows me to my bedroom. I open my laptop. "What do you want to see?" He jumps onto my bed. "Horror, I want to hold my girl." I nod and pick Lights Out. I'm not really the type for horror movies, but I guess I have to ignore my boundaries for once.

23th of December

Lucas POV

I write my name on a paper and put it in the bowl with the other names. Thomas decided to do Secret Santa one more time. "Okay, Melanie takes the first one. Then Lucas, then Eric and then I will take one", Thomas says. Melanie puts her hand in the bowl and takes a paper. She gives the bowl to me. I take a paper and look at it. Lucas. I put it back and take another one. "My name was written on the paper", I explain. I take a look at the paper after I have given the bowl to Eric. Thomas. I'm Thomas' secret santa. I have one day to find something for him. I know he likes movies. That's not good, he doesn't have much time left to watch a movie. I have an idea, but I have to leave as fast as I can. "I have to leave, I'll call you this evening, love", I announce. I kiss Melanie and take my jacket.

Melanie POV

It's so weird. We are all takes papers and talking and suddenly, Lucas has to go. He had told me he didn't have any plans today. I guess he will explain when he calls me. "Mel, I have to ask. How are you feeling now that you are in a relationship with Lucas?" my dad asks. "I feel really good, dad. He takes care of me, he proves that he loves me all the time and he's so sweet. I know it's still new, but I do feel lucky to have him." My dad nods and smiles. "I know it isn't really the right time to say this, but I'm happy you met him. He's the first boy I know that I trust around you. Seeing you around him and him around you, makes me feel relieved. When the day arrives, I know you will be fine. Lucas will look after you, he will help you to go through that difficult time. I am sure that you will be okay, my love. But promise me one thing: don't push him away. He's just trying to help you." I nod. My dad opens his arms to give me a hug. I stand up and hug him tight. I pull Eric closer so he can be in this family hug too. "I love you, children. More than anything." I look at Eric and he looks at me. "We love you too, dad," we respond at the same moment.

Lucas POV

I walk to the jewellery shop Goldsmiths. I saw that Thomas wears a ring of Melanie's mom, so I guess he maybe wants to wear another one too. "Hello, can I help you?" the woman behind the desk asks. "Hi, I wanted to have two golden rings: one for a man and the other one for a woman." She walks to the storage room and comes back with a box. "Here are some rings for men and women. You can choose the same ring twice if you like, these are rings for both genders." My eye falls on a golden ring with little stripes of silver. "I would like to have this one twice please." She takes the ring out of the box and goes to the storage room again. She comes back with the same ring. "Any special wishes?" she asks with a friendly smile. "Is it possible to put a little quote on it?" She nods. "Which quote can I write down for you?" What would fit best? Suddenly, I remember a quote Melanie told me a few weeks ago.

Love heals sickness

I tell the quote to the woman. She looks up to me and smiles. "They will love it." I nod. "I know."

She puts the rings into box. "They will be ready tomorrow morning. You can pick them up at 10 o'clock if you like?" I nod. "That would be perfect. Thank you so much." She smiles. "No, thank you."

It's been a month since I have uploaded a chapter and man, it feels good. I hope you all enjoy it. I have already promised it a few times, BUT it will get better. I have some great ideas that will happen within a few chapters, so I hope you guys will continue reading this story.
