Chapter 3
"Where's Diana," I asked everybody.
"Don't know," Craig said.
"Maybe she's sick," Ross said.
"I hope she isn't," I said, "I suppose, then if she's off then I don't have to put up with two couples kissing, only one." This made everyone laugh. It is true though. Then the bell went. "See you all at lunch," I said and everybody went to there lockers to get their stuff for class. I didn't know this but turns out that Alice, and me had every class together. Me and her got on really well.
First I had creative writing, I wrote about all my friends!! I sat next to a boy called Kieran. He was so annoying, he bugged me all lesson!! Ross told me that he fancied me!! Like I believe that!! I finished my work ten minutes before the bell and got free time so did Alice, so we just spoke to each other. So it happens me and Alice have a lot in common!! We like the same music, colours, shops and basically everything else!! When the period ended we walked to dance class still talking. The boys were in the last class, just we sat at opposite sides of the classroom.
The guys were in the same dance class as us too!! We were learning the salsa. I already knew it and so did Alice, but we still had to do it. When the teacher told the boys to go and pick a partner, I smiled. I hate picking a partner to dance with, I get to embarrassed and then cant get the words out of my mouth. I hadn't realised it but Craig had actually ran over to me and asked me. I said yes of course trying to be polite. He smiled at my answer. There's something wrong with this dude, today!! He must miss Diana, poor him. I think I should ask just in case. "Craig are you ok??" I asked trying to be serious.
"Em, yes. I think so. Why??" He asked confused.
"No reason, its just you smiled at me when I said yes to you. That's all," I said.
"Is that bad. We have been friends since we were four, you should know that I hate being rejected," He said.
"Yeah, ok," I said and that was the end of our conversation.
At lunch I walked over to my table to find Alice and Ross kissing. I sat down with my salad and spoke to Craig. "Want to annoy them??" I asked Craig quietly, while pointing too Alice and Ross. Craig looked at me and nodded. I began by coughing and Craig copied me. Then that didn't break them apart, so we started saying, "PDA," over and over again. That got their attention. "What do you two want know??" asked Ross. Me and Craig just burst out laughing!! Alice went bright red with blushing. "Oh, I'm sorry, Alice it was just a joke," I said guiltily. Craig followed my lead and apologised as well. "Was it really a joke, I thought you were serious!!" She said laughing as well now. Then finally Ross laughed as well. We were all in fits of laughter. Then the bell went to tell us that lunch was over.
Me and Alice walked to our science class still laughing when we got to class. She asked me if we could be lab partners and I agreed. We got on so well. It was like we had known each other for ever!! "Are you going to Sam's party tomorrow??" She asked me.
"Yeah are you??" I said, and she nodded. When science ended we had a lesson on algebra in maths. I paid as much attention as I could, but I just got bored. "Miss Ryeback, if 3x+7=43, what is x??" Mr. Kadle asked.
"x=12," I said.
"Correct," He said, "Ok you can get your homework from me and then class dismissed.
I got my homework said bye to Alice, Ross and Craig and went to basketball. I arrived just on time. I shoved my bag in the corner and got a basketball and practised shooting lay ups. The coach was off so guess who was teaching us, Ross and Craig. Oh brilliant. I can beat them both at this.
We shuttle runs to warm up, then the boys said they were to hot and took their tops off!! We had a game at the end. Six players a side. One boy and five girls. Craig and Ross were team captains and picked the teams. Ross had Nina, Hazel, Georgia, Sally and Alish, whereas Craig had, Me, Katie, Holly, Rebecca and Olivia. We won 21-13!! After practice was over, I got my stuff and left.
When I got home I dumped my stuff upstairs and went to see what I was having for dinner. "Hey sweetie how was school??" my mum asked me.
"It was ok, Diana wasn't there, but I made friends with an ex-cheerleader, who is Ross's girlfriend. We have so much in common. Her name is Alice," I said cheerfully.
"That's good then," She said, "Oh by the way, the Carters are coming over for dinner," She said.
"Is Craig coming??" I asked.
"Yes he is," My mum said.
"Ok, I'm just going to go and get my homework done," I said and went up the stairs. I got my homework finished just in time for Craig arriving. I went and got the door. "Hello, Mr and Mrs Carter and hello Craig," I said welcoming them in. "Hello, Rose," Mrs Carter said. Then my mother came and took over. Me and Craig went upstairs, until dinner was ready.
"Enjoy basketball today??" He asked me.
"Yes, Mr Carter I did. You're the best coach ever!!" I said laughing, and he joined in. "I bet you liked dance class today," I said laughing.
"Yeah it was the best time in my life!!" He said and we both burst out laughing again. We got on well me and him. Our parents got on as well. Then his phone made a noise, telling him he had got a text. "Who's it from??" I asked as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Diana," He said.
"What does she want??" I asked curiously.
"Nothing. Its just she asked me if I had ever fancied you before, and I haven't told her if I have or not!!" He said, looking at the ground.
"What are you going to say??" I asked again.
"Well, I'm going to tell her the truth. So I am going to text back.....
