Guardian.

She sat up on the mattress, standing on one of the few strong wood boards left. She walked over to the alarm clock that had been belting Pour Some Sugar On Me, and unplugged it.

She pulled on a clean, black shirt and jeans. The Aether rose at that point, tying her cloak around her. They made their way down the stairs, skipping the faulty ones, and entering the relatively empty kitchen.

She made a cup of black coffee and sipped it. It was then colorful sparks began to flicker behind her. She turned calmly as Stephen entered her kitchen through the portal.

"They need us-"

"It's been six months, without a call," she finished her cup.

"Now, Quinn-"

"Six months. That's half a year, Stephen," she persisted and put the mug in the full sink. She turned, crossing her arms. The Aether waited.

"That," he pointed at the red, gravity-defying liquid. It winced, "Is going to your head."

"Is not," it was half true. The darkness of the particular stone was only infecting her acts when she was in battle. Otherwise, it was just friendly company.

She crossed her arms, "What do they need?"

"It's the war. It's begun," he stated solemnly. She stood straight, her hands dropping.

"Well lets go, then. Quit wasting time," she teased him. He began to concoct the portal. She needed to be serious, for what was to come would change everything.

They stepped through the sparks and onto a familiar ship. Peter stood with his arms crossed, waiting for them.

"We needed you," he stated calmly.

"I told you I'd be here and I am, aren't I?"

The End.
(Until Infinity War.)
