Chapter 6: Good Morning A$$hole

The Raccoon's POV

All the animals in the world...All the creatures...And I had to be with the owl. Although, he did save me ONCE...Doesn't mean anything...At least not yet...

My fur was drenched with water, as I walked through the floor of the open forest air, with the sun shining through the morning trees. I was in fact looking for food, which I do every morning. 

But this morning was different, little amounts of pain swarmed my body each time I moved any of my legs. But it didn't hurt that bad...So I kept hunting. 

Of course I wasn't leaving the owl, I was gonna get him some food...Unfortunately. What do owls eat? I don't fucking know...

I kept eyeing everything in the forest as I swept through it. Something caught my eye, as my fluffy ears went up. 

Ruffling in the leaves caught my attention, as I crouched to the ground. A small grey rabbit popped out of the bushes, not noticing me. 

I started to crawl towards it, with the silence through the morning air. I stopped...And pounced at the small creature. 

It's small eyes filled with fear as I took his life away with a single bite to it's neck. It took one last little squeak, before it's life was taken. 

I picked it up by it's throat and trotted back to the owl. The rabbit was a little too furry for my mouth, so some of it's fur piled up in my teeth which was kind of disgusting.

I watched as the tree came into view, still silence coming from the small little hollow in the trunk of the tree, so he was still asleep.

I crawled in the small tunnel, while the owl was purring in his sleep...It's kinda cute to be honest.

I walked next to the owl, and tapped his wing with my paw. I awoke him as his eye lids started to open, revealing his huge pupils...Which always seem to startle me. He blinked a few times, before he looked at me. He sighed, and got out of his little cocoon he was in with his wings. He stretched his wings out, and shook. 

I set down the rabbit in front of him, scaring him a little bit. He backed up, and tilted his head. "What's that?" His eyes were full of confusion as I started to get confused as well. "You don't eat rabbits?" He shook his head.

I sighed, "What do you eat then?" I started to tilt my head as well...As confusion filled me. "Mice usually, I don't eat anything else."

"Try it." I pushed it towards him, with dirt getting on it's light grey fur. He sighed...And slowly questioned where to eat it first. He looked at it's head, then it's body, then it's arm. He nibbled on it's arm, just getting it's fur wet. I just shook my head and slapped myself from his stupidity.

I clawed at the rabbit, as he backed off. "Watch and learn." I simply bit it, and picked it up. I shook my head, making it's skin rip and for it's limbs to become loose (I just threw up in my mouth).  

I set it down, and ripped off it's arm with a simple bite. I looked up, seeing his eyes bigger then any other time I have seen them. His pupil were really small, which really freaked me out. 

I pushed it back towards him, with him trembling. He bent down slowly, and bit at it's other arm, tearing it as he swallowed it whole. 

What the fuck?? "Why in the fuck did you do that?! Did you just swallow it?!!" I almost choked up the rabbit as he swallowed it. He nodded. I just shook my head, as he started to eat the other parts...I wasn't hungry anymore...Ew

I shook my head once more, before walking out of the little cavern. I stopped and looked back. "We better get going, c'mon." He nodded, and waddled out of the cavern. I smiled. 

It was pretty nice to have at least some company around. I have never actually had company in a long time...

He flapped his wings, and lifted off the ground, grabbing me with his talons. It startled me seeing the ground rise from under my feet, and get farther and farther away from you at the point where you can die from the fall.

Although...I wish he would fucking tell me when he was going to start to lift me off the ground. It kind of hurt when his talons pulled me up, but I don't complain. Other than all that...I'm totally fine. 

He carried me above the trees, as the sun kept rising into the air. His wings glided through the air, as we kept flying for hours and hours...
