I woke up the next mornig refreshed I walked downstairs and their was no sign of benard

I quickly got up and started getting dressed even tho I don't have to go to work for another 2 hours

I finished getting ready 10 minutes later a headed for the door just as I was about to grab the door I heard keys on the porch so I quickly ran to the back door and walked around to the front but I couldn't get my car because Benards car was blocking my car from getting out

I started walking up the street so I could call a cab there's no way in the world I'm about to risk getting caught

After about 20 minutes of waiting the cab had arrived I decided to go get breakfast at this fancy breakfast bar which is right next to the nail place

If I eat in 30 minutes I can have an hour to get my nails done then about 30 minutes to get to work perfect

I can't remember a the last time I treated myself

I remember when I first met Benard those were the sweet days

I was at the mall in the Gucci store getting myself a new dress for a wedding I had to attend

When I went to the register to ring all my stuff up a fine darks skinned man slapped his black card down

"Um excuse me but I can handle myself"

"Charge it to the card" he said without acknowledging what I just said

The cashier gave me my bag and told me to have a great day

" I'm Benard , and you are " he said holding his had out to me "

" Highly upset" I said to him crossing my arms

" I'm sorry ma'am I just saw a beautiful lady and got beside myself he said starting to walk away

"Wait" I said as he turned back around

"I'm Paige "

That's we're it all started he was great for a while but after his mother died he hasn't been the same

"Ma'am " the cab driver said pulling me out of my thoughts

" Oh I'm sorry " I said as I handed him a 50

"Keep the change"

" Thanks" he said with a smile as I shut the door

As soon as I walked into Omelet cafe I wanted to walk back out

"Paige?"

"Hey Jermaine"

" Come sit with us?" he asked with a smile

I went and sat at the table with jermaine and his people

" Hey everybody " I said trying not to be so awkward

" Paige can I talk to you in private for a minute "

" Sure"

We got up and went outside the restaurant

" Paige listen , I'm sorry for what happened the last time we met up I didn't know-"

"It's fine"

" Why you still with him?"

"Excuse me?!"

" I mean we can all see you gotta abusive man

Your scared to be home late and you have bruises all down your arms "

" How'd you-"

"White shirt"

I just stayed looking at the ground

He lifted my chin up

" You have to leave"
