Chapter 5 Dinner must never be boring

"So six years, what have I missed?"

The two were currently sitting in Elena's living room, relaxing by enjoying a glass of red wine.

"Do you want me to make a list?"

"Just the summary."

"Ok. That's not happening appreciate my time way to much, but I do have some hot gossip to share."

"Do tell."

"Do you remember our classmates. Giani and Aurora?"

"What do you think? Aurora was in our close group of friends, she was my lab partner for I don't even know how many years."

"Well, she still is."

"My lab partner?"

"My friend. Anyway, now rumir has it that she and Giani are dating."

"Wait, he's a DeLucce. Aurora is a Luciano. Aren't thouse families in the odds with each other? They managed to resolve it?"

"No."

"What do you mean no?"

"I mean, what things were like, they still are. The old rivalry is still there."

"I can't see old Luciano being very glad about this rumors."

The animosity between DeLucce and Luciano was well known within the Outfit. It went back generations and it was never resolved despite the fact that today the two families were amongst the main eight families that made up the leadership of the Outfit.

If Arianna could recall well, it all started when the families were dividing up territories. They had some kind of a fall out. Actually Giani and Aurora weren't exactly friends during hightschool.

"Yeah, he wasn't. Especial when said rumor was confirmed. Giani went to Aurora's father to ask permission to go out with her. He had the door shut to his face. Both families were furious and supposedly the relationship was broken."

"Supposedly?"

"Well they are planing to elop."

Arianna spit the wine she was having out. Elena said this as if it was the most natural thing in the entire world. Calm and unbothered.

"What?"

"They are desperate, OK?"

"They are crazy."

"No. Not crazy. They are in love, crazy in love."

"Same thing. Who knows about this?"

"Salomi, Vera, Christina and I, from Aurora's side. Now you as well. From Giani only Rico and Mike, i think."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Aurora agreed. The six of us have been together since primary school. It'd feel wrong to do this without you, esspesialy since you are back."

"That's actually touching. When is it happening?"

"I don't know yet. Only they know and they will spread the word few days befor. Rina, you can tell anyone. You know that. Im trusting you, to keep their secret."

"And I Will. You don't have to worry about me, I know how to keep a secret. I just hope they know what they are doing."

"They do. I think. Anyway moving on to other shocking news you need to know, Angela Russo got outcasted."

"What? Why?"

"Long story short, she was already at odds with the family after getting pregnant and refusing to tell anybody who the father was. Then, poor thing she had a miscarriage. It broke her. She became sarcastic, disrespectful towards everyone.
Afterwards she attacked her mother in the middle of a party hosted by uncle Antonio. To make things worst she slapped my auntie Luisa infrond of everyone, when she went to stop her."
