A wax seal.

The letter was in a rough damp envelope. It had a purple wax seal on the back, a neat one with no spraying around the edges, the pattern on the seal was strange. It had an eye on it, with the veins bulging, i stared at it, what was it doing here, addressed to me.
As I stared at it stared back it was almost lifelike. Suddenly, it blinked. I dropped the letter, froze, how did it do that. Obviously i was going mad, being lonely makes you go mad. I picked it up, then it blinked again in my hand, it started to move around, was there something in there, something, alive.
I was tempted to run in and tell my mother, but instead i stood there, still in shock, I started to open it.
My hands were shaking as I pealed away the wax seal and opened it. Inside it was, a letter, just a simple letter. Nothing special, nothing alive, just a letter. I started to read it.

Dear miss Alice of  Caldey,
I recall you sending a letter into the ocean only yesterday, littering, i believe the mermaids wouldn't be very happy about that, anyway, when I opened your letter I recognize the handwriting, I would like to meet you miss Alice, come to the docks at 11:30 tonight, we must talk.
Yours sincerely, Brookery
