Tw: homophobic slurs

"What did you say to my girl?" His breath is hot and gross. He keeps me in his hold for way too long. I grab his hand and rip it from my arm.
"I said what needed to be said." I say nonchalantly and walk away. I don't have time for any of their bullshit. "Jay, come on. We're skipping."
"Don't you have perfect attendance? I wouldn't want to mess that up," she says between sniffles.
"I don't care. We're leaving. We have stuff to tend to," I say, grabbing my stuff and her hand. I wasn't going to sit here while others degrade Jay and Katie. It wasn't right and I wasn't going to stand for it.
"Where are we going, Chase?"
"My house. We're gonna figure out who killed her," we walk outside and I feel my eyes well up with tears.
Katie was my everything. She was there when I needed her and she'd stay if I wanted her. I can't understand why anyone would say shit like that about her.
I break from my thoughts when I hear footsteps behind us.
"Hey, fag. Where do you think you're going?"
"What the fuck do you want, Robert? Can't you see we're trying to do something." I reply, the sudden sense of confidence coming back.
"What you gonna do? You're not gonna get in her pants 'cause you're both faggots." He pushed me, making me let go of Jay's hand. I hit the lockers. Hard. All the breath I had was knocked out of me and I sat there gasping for air.
"Chase! What the hell is your problem?" Jay ran towards me and grabbed my face. "Are you okay? What do I need to do?"
By this time, I had gotten enough air to respond. "Just... give me some time to breathe." She let my face go and turned to Robert.
"Go the fuck away. I can't believe I have to have you as my brother."
