I knocked repeatedly on his door as tears streamed down my face. The ache I was feeling in my chest was unbearable. I felt like my chest was closing in on me.
I couldn't believe I was kept in the dark for the past 2 years and it turns out to be something like this. I've never imagined the reason he went away would be this. I feel like shit now.
I was still knocking when the door opened and I came face to face with Stiles.
"Lydia," He had confusion written all over his face. He surely wasn't expecting me to come over, crying. "What's wrong?"
I grabbed the file from my bag and showed it to him. "Till when were you planning to keep this away from me, Stiles?" My voice was quivering. I was so shocked and hurt. Words can't describe the pain I was feeling.
I saw as the colors left his face when he knew what I was referring to. He wasn't expecting me to find out on my own. "I-I uh, I can explain." He gulped.
"I'm listening." I blinked away the tears as I was trying to stay calm.
"Not here, Lydia." He said as he opened the door. "Come in. I'll tell you everything, I promise."
I shook my head as a no. "I need you to tell me everything, now." I whimpered. My patience was running out. I had managed to keep it in me for weeks but I was dying to know what happened to him. What had caused him to leave just like that, and now, I was dying to know whether what I read is correct or not.
He nodded his head as he paced back and forth. He didn't know where to start. He wasn't expecting to explain it to me at this moment, I could tell. I knew his Anxiety would start kicking in soon so I sighed as I called his name "Stiles." I snapped which caused him to snap out of it.
"Do you remember when we came back from that school trip? When we went to the water park?" I nodded my head. I didn't know where was he going with this.
"I started feeling neck pain." He gulped as he remembered. "I didn't think much of it. We had just came back from a trip so it was likely to happen."
I stood there as I listened to him speak. I was so dumbfounded I couldn't form any words.
"After a week or so, I was finding it hard to gulp food." He grimaced. "I thought it was something minor so I brushed it off but then it started to hurt so much so I told Mom." I started remembering that period of time. He always seemed out of it but I didn't really think much of it.
"We went to the hospital and they ran some tests." He said. "I was confused you know? I thought it wasn't anything serious but guess I was wrong."
