Draco's POV

I walk side by side with Blaise, talking about last night.

"You were so drunk!" I laugh, his tan skin turning darker.

"Was not! I only had one goblet," he argues. I raise an eyebrow.

"Two, then."

I just stare blankly at him.

"Fine. I had five," he huffs, walking faster. Luckily, I'm quite fast so I catch up with him pretty quickly.

"You started talking like Yoda!" I laugh.

"Hang on," he holds out an arm to stop me walking. "I've heard about Yoda from Nott, since he's a half blood and used to live with his muggle mother. How do you know about it?"

I blush and I'm not about to admit I like watching muggle films. "Granger mentioned it."

He buys it and when he's not looking, I let out a sigh of relief. I may be... more civil about muggles, but it doesn't mean I want to be anything like them.

"How's your "spectacular plan" going with Granger? Has she fallen in love with you yet?"

"No, but I have an idea," I tell him, a smirk tickling my lips.

"What is it now?" He sighs, "Are you going to make her drink Amortentia potion?"

"No. That would take the fun out of everything, now wouldn't it? No, I'm going to invite her to stay at my house over the holidays and get her to fall in love with me then. I'll break her heart and then finally be the top dog at school."

"Let me know how that turns out for you," he replies. He leaves to go to his transfiguration lesson and I spot a pile of bushy hair leaving a classroom. Luck for us, we have a free period at the same time. I checked. Pity about Blaise, though. He'll be turning a pig into a cauldron whilst I'm having fun.

But now's the tricky bit.

"Granger!" I call as I watch her leave her charms classroom. I reckon the sooner we make up, the better. All I need is for her to fall for me, and then I'll be laughing at her stupidity. I ignore the tugging guilt inside my stomach.

She continues walking, books pressed up against her chest and head bent low. In three long strides, I catch up to her and grab hold of her wrist.

"Granger. Look. Can we talk?"

She turns around, and hisses "There's nothing to talk about!"

Wow. Maybe this won't be as easy as I thought.

"Please... I want to apologise," I plead, but this makes her laugh.

"What for Draco? For kissing me? It's not my problem so don't talk to me. I want to forget about it."

"I'm sorry! I was just trying to make you feel better! I didn't mean to- to upset you further! Can we just move on, and finish the potion today?"

She rolls her brown eyes. "Fine. But I don't want to mention it again. Friends?" She holds out a hand and I shake it.

"Friends," I agree.

Then:

"Thank you. As we've got a free period, do you want to finish it now?"
"Sure," she replies and we step into an empty classroom we've been using as a storage space for the potion. But I can't see it anywhere.

"Have you moved it?" Gulping and turning slowly to meet Hermione's horrified gaze.

She shakes her head.

Shit.
